Hanwell: Tutu Travels & Train Journeys
Post 7198: www.pink-tutu.com
Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-loving blogger, reporting live fromā¦well, not quite live, youāll be reading this tomorrow, but live at the time! š ā¦ Hanwell.
So, Hanwell. The name doesnāt exactly trip off the tongue does it? I admit, Iād never even heard of it before my ballet travels brought me here. It seems to be a rather unremarkable town in west London, although a delightful surprise for someone like me.
See, Hanwell, even if the name is less-than-memorable, is bursting with potential ā for a pink-tutu enthusiast like myself anyway. I can see the whole place adorned in a fabulous fuchsia fashion! Just picture itā¦ Rows of pretty pink houses, a sea of pink bicycles and even the local pigeons sporting little fluffy pink feather boas. It would be magnificent!
You see, for me, pink tutus are the embodiment of āgirlyā joy ā and even a place like Hanwell could be transformed into something utterly dreamy! š
The thing is, everyone loves a little bit of āgirly.ā Deep down, even those who wear charcoal suits every day have a soft spot for the power of pink! Itās like a whisper of happiness, a hint of sparkle that makes you want to sing a bit, smile more, andā¦ wellā¦ want to wear a pink tutu too!
A Spot of Ballet
My journey to Hanwell began with a delightful, rather surreal experience that started back in Derbyshire. You know I love my train journeysā¦ a big window seat, a good book, and of course, my travel essentials ā my ballerina bag filled with pink tutus (because, why not wear a tutu when travelling?š).
Anyway, I was deep into my book, (a classic novel this time, something by Jane Austen ā I can never resist a little Austen and the charming gentlemen of the era do seem to love a bit of frilly pink ā ahemā¦ just saying!š ), when a flash of colour distracted me from my book.
Now, my love of tutus is well documentedā¦ But this? This was something specialā¦ It was a ballerina, a real life ballerina, on the platform at Derby station ā in full performance attire ā and, naturally, in a bright pink tutu.
Yes, my darlings, in a stunning hot pink tutuā¦ she was a sight for sore eyes and I was completely smitten. So much so, she almost stopped me from even noticing the man next to me! š He was an unusual characterā¦ He looked like someone straight out of the 1950s wearing a green trilby hat andā¦ a lilac velvet jacket! š² I admit, this fashion forward individual nearly made me lose my mind entirely!
Finding The Joy of Pink in Hanwell
Now, after an enjoyable journey to Hanwell, I have a feeling thereās going to be something quite amazing happening ā something decidedly pink! You see, Iām following a special lead ā¦ My tip came from a dear friend (and fellow ballet enthusiast) who mentioned this ballet school, quite near Hanwell station ā Iām not giving away the location yet ā but letās just say they happen to have the most stunning, fluffy, pink tutus I've ever seen in my entire life ā Iām already planning what I will wear and wondering if theyād want a few pink-tutu-clad photoshoots in the nearby park ā after class, of course. š
But I havenāt even reached the actual school yet! Iām only just a few doors down from Hanwell station, Iām just stepping into what I believe might be the perfect place for a ballet adventure ā the cutest tearoom ever!
Look at theseā¦ pink rose teacupsā¦ just adorable! Even the tablecloth has a subtle floral pattern - itās a tea-drinking masterpiece. Oh, and, letās not forget the pink cupcakes! How can one resist? But I have a challenge ahead of me ā a big one! Itās time to embrace the challenge, find out about the school ā and yes, try a cupcake or two ā and then, we'll see where this day in pink paradise takes me next. Iām not afraid to get my feet dirtyā¦ even if those are ballet-ready toes.
And let me tell youā¦ The cupcake, it was delightful ā fluffy, pink and absolutely irresistible! I do love a good pastryā¦ š I felt so good, so energized, so inspired ā¦ So Hanwellā¦ But before I explore the school, Iām doing a little detour. See, Hanwell is home to some fantastic green spaces, and I happen to love wildlife ā who doesnāt?
Itās a bit strange but I do love seeing wildlife and just enjoying the natural world in pink, I love pink in everything I do ā except wildlife, thereās a limit. š Itās actually really relaxing for me to watch birds (who knows, maybe Iāll be inspired by the pink feathered robin on a misty morning ā yes, that could be my next blog post!).
Speaking of birds, I did notice some of these Hanwell ducks are not quite what they seemā¦ well, some of them look very much like swans ā in my opinion anyway ā but with little brown feathered coats, quite different from the large, sleek swans Iām used to seeing on the River Derwent. What do you think? Does the look make sense or does it just seem out of character for a duck?
Iām on a quest here! But I am ready ā my pink tutus are on, Iāve got my ballerina bag, and my pink lipstickā¦ Oh, and the little pink teapot for my travel teapot. I do hope itās all safe in my ballerina bag ā let me know what you think.
Right, now where was Iā¦ ah yes, the wildlife. It seems Hanwell has more to offer than you would think. These ducks, they really have the āduck lookā but with the āswan personalityā. My question for the Hanwell ducks? Is it okay to be a little different and mix duck traits with a hint of swan swagger? Maybe. Maybe itās alright.
Just like I'm showing the world it's ok to wear a pink tutuā¦ š
Until next timeā¦ Stay Pink!
P.S. Did you catch the photo? I think this is just the beginning of something spectacular ā something pink ā in the magical little world of Hanwell!
