Belfast Buzz: A Purple Tutu Takes on the Emerald Isle! ☘️

Hey darlings! It’s your favourite pink tutu enthusiast, Emma, back with another post from my globetrotting ballet adventures! Today, we’re swapping the Derbyshire dales for the charming city of Belfast, Northern Ireland, where I’m about to witness some incredible ballet magic in my brand new, oh-so-chic purple tutu! 😉 (Yes, I know, breaking the pink mould a little, but a girl's gotta try new things, right?)

This is post number 7236, and it’s a momentous one, for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s my first trip to Belfast! The city is a delightful mix of Victorian architecture and buzzing modern life, and it’s already stolen a little piece of my heart with its friendly faces, bustling markets, and stunning waterfront views.

Secondly, it marks the culmination of a lifelong dream – to visit the Belfast Opera House and see a performance by the Royal Ballet! Ever since I first tiptoed onto a stage as a tiny tot in my pink tutus (pink, of course!), I’ve been in awe of the elegance, precision, and emotion of ballet. And to think I’m actually seeing it live, in one of the most renowned venues in the UK – pinch me!

Now, you know me – my love for travelling isn't limited to simply hopping on a plane! This time, I embraced a more nostalgic form of transport – the magic of train travel! There's something about watching the world slip past your window, sipping tea from a china cup, and feeling that gentle rocking rhythm. It was like stepping back in time, just as my granny used to tell me about her adventures in her younger years.

Before arriving at the Opera House, I decided to indulge my wanderlust in a way only a true ballet lover can – with a trip to the grand Victorian park, Botanic Gardens! Think rolling lawns, exotic blooms, and majestic trees – the perfect backdrop for a mini-ballet session! (Just you wait, the pictures are coming soon!) The sheer beauty and tranquility of the gardens was almost enough to transport me to a land straight out of a fairytale, and you can bet your pink tutu I did a little pirouette for the camera.

And speaking of the camera – I had to bring along my favourite camera! You know, the one that helps me capture all my favourite moments with my dearest friends – who I'm calling "the Tutu Squad!" - on all my travels. You can’t imagine how many silly photo shoots we've had at iconic landmarks.

But the highlight of this trip, obviously, had to be the ballet performance. I sat in the auditorium, surrounded by the plush velvet seats, and listened as the music soared. The story unfolded, and every leap, every turn, every delicate footwork took me to another world. It’s almost like my tutu got to dance with them too, the way I felt the emotions and movements through my own soul. I may have been the only one in the audience in a purple tutu (although let's be honest, my pink tutus wouldn't have looked out of place here!) – but my heart definitely danced with them.

It was a magical evening that I will never forget, but you know me – I always bring a touch of pink, even when the world calls for purple. As I strolled through the streets of Belfast after the performance, the city’s lights twinkling like magic dust, I realised just how lucky I am to get to share my love for ballet, travel, and my very favourite colour with all of you.

Speaking of sharing, did I mention my new found passion for horses? The Irish landscape seems to be the perfect backdrop for the thrill of horseback riding, something I’ve wanted to try forever! It feels like an extension of the ballet – a graceful form of movement that helps you connect with nature on a deeper level. Let’s just say my Tutu Squad is already planning a horse riding day trip to the rolling hills near the Mourne Mountains! Who knows, we might even find some wildlife to dance with – we’re always open to new ballet partners!

So there you have it, another unforgettable adventure in my pink tutu diary, a beautiful journey filled with magic, grace, and the undeniable joy of sharing a love of ballet with the world. As I sit here, back in the cozy haven of my Derbyshire cottage, my mind is already dreaming of new destinations, new experiences, and, of course, new tutus. Until next time, stay twirling, keep exploring, and most importantly, remember that wearing pink is always the right answer, even if purple feels like the way to go today.

See you soon,

Emma
