Gateshead Gleam: Tutu Travels & Train Adventures
#TutuBlog 7267
Hello my darlings! It’s Emma here, fresh from another magical adventure in the beautiful, bustling, vibrant, oh-so-chic city of Gateshead! I’m not kidding you when I say my tutu felt like it was twirling around in pure joy just being there. 💖
This trip, I’m going to level with you, involved some pretty hardcore planning. See, getting around Gateshead is just too glamorous to travel by any old means. There’s something so grand about taking the train through those majestic landscapes, you just have to indulge in it. I mean, you can't very well wear a flamboyant fuchsia tutu and then show up to the ballet class in a boring old car, can you? Absolutely not!
My heart, my dears, is a little bit country, but I do adore those urban city adventures. The cobbled streets of Gateshead with its historic buildings felt positively medieval! A perfect place to try and learn some fancy footwork while looking completely gorgeous in my new crimson tutu, all ruffled and dramatic, naturally! You just wouldn't believe the looks I got – all in a good way, of course. 😉
And Gateshead is certainly no stranger to ballet. My itinerary was positively packed with ballets, classes, and performances. Just what my soul craved! Imagine, dear readers, taking in a classical masterpiece at the beautiful Theatre Royal, where the red velvet seating practically whispered promises of grace and elegance. Pure ballet bliss! My fellow tutus twirling enthusiasts would absolutely adore it.
Then, there’s The Sage Gateshead. Oh, the beauty! That shimmering building is practically a ballet performance on its own. I even managed to snag a class in their iconic auditorium. They actually do a specific dance class there just for tutus - which I naturally have been eagerly anticipating! How lucky we are that such an amazing place is open to all. Ballet isn't about being "better than" anyone, it's about bringing joy, inspiration, and beauty to every single soul!
Speaking of soul-stirring, my trip to the beautiful Gibside garden felt like a trip to a storybook! So much natural beauty with all that ancient history. You can almost imagine the princesses waltzing through those grand, sweeping grounds with their flowing skirts and playful dances! Did you know they even had a real life Queen of the May coronation every year back in the day? They do have a fabulous display of stunning floral arrangements in a vintage pink gazebo – something so enchanting about that. Pink? I can’t think of a more perfect colour.
But it wasn't all twirls and sparkles, though I do make a pretty darn good argument for it to be! I’m always drawn to nature and found a whole new set of winged creatures to admire in Gateshead’s many nature reserves. I managed to catch sight of a cheeky squirrel (so very playful and quick) and even an amazing kestrel gliding in the sunlight. Talk about a magical day out. Nature really does inspire me to be even more elegant, you see.
If there’s one thing Gateshead does beautifully, it's embracing the outdoors, making me feel completely comfortable in my bright red tutu and enjoying my little picnics on the luscious green grass. Now I'm wondering if they make picnic baskets for your favourite tutu too, or maybe some extra big pockets? It wouldn't be a surprise, given how fabulously stylish and welcoming everyone has been.
All this, of course, just serves to feed my passion – to encourage everyone, young and old, to embrace the beautiful world of dance and its magical elements. To put on that bright, bouncy pink tutu (I don’t discriminate between pink and red, don’t worry!) and take a step – no matter how small - into the glorious world of dance.
Because you know what, dear readers? Life is just that much brighter and much more vibrant when you let your heart and soul do a little twirling!
That’s all for today, but I've already got more exciting plans in the making! Keep an eye out for a post on the fabulous fashion scene here in Gateshead (lots of fabulous shops and little boutiques, you won't believe what I found!). And as always, join me on www.pink-tutu.com. Keep those comments and requests flowing, my darlings. Every tutu journey starts with a single leap!
Until next time!
Xx Emma
