Dudley Calling: Tutu Adventures in the West Midlands!

#TutuBlog | Post 7300 | June 28th, 2016

Hello my gorgeous darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, Emma, checking in from the enchanting town of Dudley! And oh, let me tell you, it’s been an absolute dream.

Today’s journey was one for the history books (and let’s be honest, my Instagram feed) because I opted for a good old-fashioned horse-drawn carriage ride. Just me, the wind in my hair, and the sweet jingle of bells…pure magic. And yes, I absolutely wore my wide, pink tutu. You know me, never miss an opportunity for a little theatrical flair!

Dudley itself is such a gem, nestled amidst the rolling green hills of the West Midlands. The stunning Dudley Castle perched on a dramatic cliff was the highlight of the day! You could feel the echoes of centuries gone by, and it's no surprise that it's often featured in television productions (have you seen those ‘Downton Abbey’ vibes?). It felt like stepping into a fairy tale, and that's saying something for someone who literally wears tutus in public.

I just had to visit the fantastic Dudley Zoo. My absolute favourite has got to be the playful otters – they’re so full of energy and charm. Plus, let's be honest, you can't look at those furry little cuties and not feel your inner child blossoming. (Cue spontaneous twirl, naturally).

But hold your horses (pun absolutely intended), the real star of the day was the spectacular ‘Dudley Ballet’ performance! It was hosted in a converted Victorian theatre - how utterly romantic! The stage was alive with vibrant colours, a fantastic orchestra, and a troupe of dancers showcasing breathtaking choreography. You guys know I can’t resist a good performance, especially one with a generous smattering of dazzling tutus. The graceful movements of the ballet dancers absolutely blew my mind, especially during the graceful and elegant finale. The emotions they evoked – strength, vulnerability, joy – had me hooked right from the first arabesque. I left feeling inspired and energized.

One of the highlights of the night was seeing several young dancers from the local ballet school performing a short routine. Watching them absolutely loving the art form just melted my heart. There’s something so pure and magical about watching a child embrace their love for ballet, and I can't wait to see them blossom in the years to come! And for all my darlings back in Derbyshire, I swear, it made me even more determined to bring the joy of ballet to our beautiful little corner of the world.

You know my philosophy: ballet is for everyone, and I mean everyone. Let’s get everyone twirling in their very own pink tutus, darling! Whether it's a little twirl on the pavement, or a full-on pirouette at a grand gala – we can create a world of elegance and grace together, one plié at a time.

And talking about my mission, it won't be long before my new "Tutu Project" takes off in the UK. I've been working on a few projects with my little team and will keep you all updated soon. In the meantime, if you're looking for a dose of whimsical adventure, get your train tickets ready and pack your most fabulous pink tutu – the world is waiting to be explored with a dash of ballet magic!

Until next time, keep twirling and keep sparkling!

Love,

Emma xx
