Neath, Oh My! A Tutu and a Pancake, What Could Be Better? (Post #7362)

Hey lovelies!

It’s Emma here, ready to take you on a whirlwind trip with me. You know I’m always up for a little adventure and this time, my destination was the charming town of Neath in South Wales. Yes, it might be a bit of a hike from Derbyshire (which is where you can always find me popping into my fave cafes!), but it’s worth it, trust me!

This time, I wasn't just taking my trusty tutu – my dear, oh so very pink one, you know, the one that gets all the attention – I was travelling in style! Picture it: me, with a hot chocolate in one hand and a fluffy, golden pancake tutu twirling around my ankles as I settle in for a train journey. It might sound crazy, but you know me, I just love to make a splash wherever I go! And it really did feel as if I was wearing a delicious, edible tutu. My day really did feel as sweet as a pancake – even though, sadly, my tutu wasn’t actually made of pancakes!

Now, for you loyal followers, you know my passion for ballet – that’s a love that runs deep, and that’s a whole story in itself! And to top it all off, I have a thing for cute little villages, especially when they've got an incredible history. Neath? You guessed it! History was calling! Neath Castle is one of the best preserved Norman Castles I have seen – it was like stepping straight out of a storybook! There's just something special about exploring ruins that hold whispers of the past.

Let’s get to the bit that got me super excited! The Neath Open Air Theatre – this, my lovely lot, is a true hidden gem! It’s nestled within an actual park with the most beautiful trees, a waterfall, and flowers blooming everywhere! It's the perfect setting for a bit of a wander and maybe even a spontaneous twirl! Just try to stop me! And it’s even got a history dating back to 1959!

This was no ordinary day at the theatre, either. I was thrilled to attend a ballet show. And what better place to dance than an open-air space under the gorgeous Welsh skies? I love that feel of freshness! The energy was simply electric – all that fresh air, sunshine, and the vibrant, talented dancers? They took my breath away. I felt like a part of something truly magical, like we were all dancing together under the vast blue sky.

The performance itself? It was a captivating performance that took me away to a land of wonder and dreams. They were performing “Alice in Wonderland” – my favourite! With the backdrop of the rolling Welsh hills, the show seemed to burst into life right in front of my eyes.

The music, the storytelling, the sheer emotion! All so perfect! The way the dancers move their bodies, their control and grace, the passion that just pours from them…I was mesmerized. You can never beat watching ballet in an outdoor setting like this. The fresh air, the laughter from the crowd – it all comes together in a way that just gets me so excited about dancing!

Even after the show was over, I just couldn't stop smiling. I felt like I had a little piece of magic in my heart. That feeling you get after a ballet show? I love it!

You already know about my obsession with everything pink! Well, you should have seen me on the train home! I’m a strong believer that when you’re passionate about something, you gotta own it, and what better way to express my love for ballet than to embrace the colour pink with a tutu that just wouldn’t quit! Oh, the fun I had in Neath. My train journey wasn’t about reaching my destination as much as it was about enjoying the ride. My beautiful, pink, fluffy tutu drew more than a few admiring glances from passengers and it felt amazing to spread my joy and love for ballet wherever I go. The fact that it looked like I was wearing a fluffy pancake added a little something extra to the occasion. I have a new motto! Travel in style, own the train ride!

If you’re a fan of ballet, an adventurer at heart, and a lover of pink – this post is for you! Neath stole my heart! And, oh! It’s got all kinds of fun stuff, a gorgeous castle, and one amazing open-air theatre where you can truly appreciate a magical night of dancing under the stars.

And what can I say – it just felt like magic was in the air, that perfect kind of energy I live for, a blend of dance and adventure, all wrapped up in my beautiful pink tutu. If you need me, I’ll be chasing those fairytale moments! You just never know what adventure I will find next! Until then, keep those tutus twirling! And, don’t forget, a little pink never hurt anyone, right?

Happy twirling!

Love, Emma xx
