Bournville Bliss: A Tutu-ful Day in the Midlands π©°
#TutuBlog Post #7468
Hello my darling Tutu-ers! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the Midlands, and trust me, it was full of tutu-tastic fun. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Bournville? Isn't that just where they make chocolate?" And you'd be absolutely right! But I'm here to tell you that Bournville has a whole lot more to offer than just delicious chocolate, especially for a tutu-loving ballet fanatic like myself. π
This time I travelled by train (so romantic, wouldn't you say?) and arrived in the morning with a spring in my step and my heart full of hope for a fabulous day. Bournville itself was so charming, full of quirky little shops, vibrant cafes and oh-so-lovely green spaces. Perfect for a quick tutu twirl in the sunshine! βοΈ
My first stop was, of course, the Cadbury World. How could I resist? The factory was just mesmerising - the scent of chocolate filling the air, the rhythmic clinking of machines, it was simply magical. I even managed to snaffle a few Cadbury creme eggs before they realised they weren't for consumption (shhh!)π€«.
After my sugar rush, I was off to see a ballet performance at the wonderful Bournville Theatre. Now, I'm not gonna lie, the theatre was smaller than what I'm used to in London, but it was full of such vibrant energy, and the performances were fantastic! I felt myself get swept away by the grace and elegance of the dancers. You know how I love ballet - it's so beautiful and expressive - itβs truly an art form!
Of course, I had to channel my inner dancer during my trip, and Bournville provided the perfect backdrop. A little dance session by the canal, a pirouette in the courtyard of the Bournville College, even a graceful pliΓ© while munching on a Cadbury Caramel. π It was simply magical, you just had to be there!
Speaking of graceful moves, my day was far from over! In the afternoon, I wandered over to the Bournville Village Green - imagine lush green grass, trees whispering secrets, and the smell of freshly baked cakes from nearby cafes. Just perfect! This was definitely my "pick-a-spot-and-have-a-little-picnic-tutu" moment.
My picnic? Oh, it was delightful. My favourite gluten-free bread, a bit of cheese and grapes, and a lovely pink ribbon around my petite, ruffled pink tutu, which was perfect for the day. I just love how easy it is to transform a simple, pink tutu with a few strategically placed accessories.
After my picnic, I ventured into the nearby Bournville Nature Reserve. This hidden gem was a delight! Imagine lush woodland, wandering streams, and cute little creatures just scampering about. It was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle, a chance to appreciate the wonders of nature. And of course, it was the perfect excuse to wear a beautiful pink floral headband with a dainty little feather. I mean, nature loves pink too, doesn't it? π
Later in the day, I met a lovely local who shared some interesting tidbits about the history of Bournville. It turns out this village was built specifically for Cadbury workers back in the 1800s! It was all about creating a healthy, happy, and sustainable community, with green spaces, parks, and schools, a vision that's quite impressive, wouldnβt you say? It felt so serene and quaint - the perfect location to inspire a bit of a quiet moment of reflection for this little ballerina.
As the day drew to a close, the sun was painting the sky with warm hues of orange and pink, creating a canvas fit for a ballerina. I just couldn't resist capturing this magic in a few snaps.
So, there you have it! My Bournville adventures. It was a truly unforgettable experience that perfectly blended my love for ballet, travel, pink and the beauty of the countryside.
But don't worry, my darling Tutu-ers, Iβve already started planning my next adventure. Where shall I head next? A trip to the Scottish Highlands maybe? Or perhaps a ballet-themed tour of Paris? You know me, I love exploring the world in my favourite pink tutu. π©°
In the meantime, Iβm busy preparing for another show here in Derbyshire, which will be a lovely mix of classical ballet, contemporary, and of course, some special pink-themed dance numbers (stay tuned! π). Donβt forget, I'm here to spread the love for pink and ballet - you should too! Get that pink tutu out, darling, and have a wonderful time! π
Love,
Emma π
