TutuBlog: Bilston Bound with a Feather Tutu! (Post #7472)

Hello my darlings! Emma here, and today's TutuBlog is going to be bursting with colour, feathers, and a healthy dose of that fabulous, fluttery feeling you get when you see a pink tutu twirling across the stage!

This morning, I woke up in my little Derbyshire cottage, sunlight streaming in through the window. You know what that means? Time to grab my favourite pink coffee mug (you can't go a day without some pink, darling) and head to the kitchen for a proper English breakfast, all before the birdsong even kicks in. After all, the day awaits, and Bilston calls!

Now, before we jump on this train to adventure (the train, it's my favourite way to travel! Especially when I get to wear a fabulous pink dress that matches the pink feather detailing on my tutu! ) I have to tell you all about last night. I spent a magical evening at the Derby Playhouse, watching the most incredible ballet production of Swan Lake! Oh, it was breathtaking. There were swans, beautiful costumes, stunning dance moves - and the dancers looked like they were floating! You can't help but get swept up in the emotion, especially when the music swells and you see those graceful legs in action. My heart always fills with pure joy at the sheer talent of professional dancers. Makes you want to pull on a tutu and get down on the stage, doesn't it?

Speaking of tutus... I'm wearing one today! It's a little beauty I picked up in Nottinghamshire, made of silk with a layer of delicate pink feathers that dance around when I move. Perfect for the trip to Bilston, which has a very special place in my heart. It was there, years ago, where I first fell in love with the idea of ballet! There's this quaint little studio tucked away in a quiet corner, run by the sweetest, most energetic ballet teacher. It's called the 'Ballet Berry' and she's just a ray of sunshine! I was only ten, and I was there with my grandmother. The moment I put on the little tutu, it was like the whole world just blossomed in front of me. It was magical. I felt like a ballerina.

We'll be making our way to Bilston later today, and I'm hoping for a little time at the Ballet Berry studio. I hear the teacher's got a whole collection of tutus - pink, of course! You'd think I had my own personal collection the way I buy them, darling. They are just so special! They symbolise dreams and twirls and the incredible feeling of freedom you get when you throw yourself into dance. And then you look down at those fluttering layers, that silky fabric swirling around your legs, and all you can think about is… a perfect pirouette. That feeling is truly unique, my lovelies.

I'll be spending some time walking around the charming old town, looking at the historical buildings and grabbing a bite to eat at that charming cafΓ©, The Little Swan, (it's got the cutest pastel pink exterior and they do the most divine Victoria sponge!) I've already heard whispers of a fantastic wildlife park just outside Bilston called The Secret Meadows. They have a resident peacock family and all sorts of other beautiful creatures. Who knows, maybe I'll spot some swans! Swans have a special significance to me because of last night's Swan Lake performance. I'm thinking of drawing some swans to post on my website later. What do you lovely ladies think? Swans, pink tutus, and the beauty of nature - now wouldn't that be a lovely design for www.pink-tutu.com?

If there's one thing I love about exploring the world, it's the unexpected adventures that await! You never know what wonders are waiting for you just around the corner. Maybe I'll bump into a fellow tutu-wearing ballerina, or perhaps I'll inspire someone to put on a pink tutu and dance through the streets! The possibilities are endless.

But until tomorrow, remember to always dance your heart out, and stay as pink and as fabulous as possible,

Your Emma x
