Hello lovelies! Emma here, signing in from the fabulous seaside town of Blackpool. As you know, I’m a bit of a tutu fanatic and a serious travel bug – so combining those passions was an absolute dream! 💖
Now, I know what you're thinking – Blackpool? Is that really a destination for a pink-loving tutu queen? Well, my darlings, it might surprise you, but it’s been a veritable fairytale! The beach, the promenade, the iconic tower… Blackpool oozes old-school British charm with a side of sparkle! And of course, what’s more charming than a Tutu in a seaside town? 😉
This trip is a special one, not just because of the seaside air, but because I've come to see the amazing “Cinderella” show at the Opera House. I'm practically quivering with excitement, you know me and my love of a good ballet (and who doesn't love a bit of fairytale magic, right?)! 💫
The train journey was absolutely idyllic! I adore the feeling of travelling by train – watching the world go by through the window as you drift off into a world of daydreams. And the carriage was packed full of fellow theatre-goers, each one a mini masterpiece of excitement and anticipation for the show ahead. Let’s just say, there were more than a few dazzling outfits on board – definitely not lacking in colour or creativity! It felt like a pre-show party on wheels, and I, of course, added a dash of pink with a vibrant pink floral scarf that I just had to add.
Pancake Perfection 🥞
Upon my arrival in Blackpool, the first thing that greeted me was the salty scent of the sea and the sight of the Blackpool Tower. Talk about majestic! I decided to head to a lovely café, perched right on the promenade, where I devoured a delightful breakfast of freshly made pancakes and lashings of maple syrup. Now, you know me and my sweet tooth… it’s impossible for me to resist such delights! So, I did what any sane tutu enthusiast would do and topped it all off with a magnificent pile of pink candy floss. 😉
Feeling fueled up, I decided to do a little tutu shopping. There was a little vintage clothing shop called “Frock’n’Roll” where I spotted the most amazing pink tulle fabric! I couldn't resist bringing a whole meter of this fabulously sparkly goodness back home with me, it’s just screaming to be turned into a showstopping new tutu.
The town was positively abuzz, bursting with energy and the laughter of children enjoying a day at the seaside. I spotted a carousel, a classic seaside treat, so I couldn't resist hopping on for a few whimsical rides! I swear, the pink carousel horse I was on was grinning with me - you can’t buy that kind of happiness, lovelies!
Taking on the Tower 🗼
The Blackpool Tower is quite an incredible sight – a monument of steel and dreams. And I simply couldn’t leave without conquering it, so I braced myself for a breathtaking ascent. It's the perfect location to capture the seaside panoramas of the city below - and of course, a fantastic opportunity to snap a picture with the Tower behind me in my pink tutu. That's how we do it!
Theatre Time
As dusk settled, and the sea air carried a sweet saltiness, I found myself on the brink of a real theatrical treat. “Cinderella” was on at the beautiful Opera House, the grand architecture and ornate decorations truly made for a special evening!
And, oh, the production was just stunning! Every costume, every movement, every graceful pose was utterly mesmerising. I can't believe how beautiful and utterly charming the entire ballet was. From the magical story to the expressive dance, my heart was full of joy and wonder.
Afterwards, I stepped out into the starry night with a heart brimming with joy, a sprinkle of fairy dust on my eyelashes, and a new favourite story for my dance book!
Blackpool Bay Memories
There’s something truly special about the vibe of this iconic town. Blackpool's charm lies in its mix of nostalgic fun, modern sparkle, and breathtaking seaside views – not to mention the sheer volume of fabulous, candy floss-coloured entertainment!
This trip was all about embracing that feeling of carefree fun that just can’t be replicated. You know what I love about Blackpool? The happy faces, the joyous screams of children, the smell of salt water and fish and chips… all those things really made it an utterly perfect weekend away. It was an absolute dream come true, my loves, and I'm already thinking about my next seaside escapade.

As you know, one of my favourite things is spreading the tutu love, inspiring everyone to wear a pink tutu. And after a trip like this, I’m convinced it’s a perfect accessory for a seaside adventure!
