Beeston Calling!

Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, and let me tell you, today's been a right whirl. A real pink-tutu kinda day, that's for sure! And it's all thanks to the wonders of a good ol' fashioned train journey, the most glamorous form of travel if you ask me! (Ok, maybe a horse would give it a run for its money!)

Anyway, today I headed over to Beeston, a delightful little spot in Nottinghamshire (just a hop and a skip from my Derbyshire roots) for a bit of ballet fun. I mean, what else would a girl in a pink tutu do on a Tuesday, right?

First up was a masterclass at the Beeston Ballet School. Now, these dancers were absolute stars, with more energy and passion than a room full of fireflies! We were working on some truly gorgeous choreography - think sweeping arms, elegant leaps, and the most beautiful pliΓ©s you ever did see. The kind that makes your muscles ache just watching it, but in the most exhilarating way possible!

Of course, no ballet outing is complete without a spot of outfit coordination. Today's theme was pink perfection, and my choice? A brand new tulle masterpiece, swirling with layers of the most vibrant fuchsia. I mean, just imagine it, a cloud of pink pirouetting across the studio! Honestly, it felt like a fairytale!

Now, as if the class itself wasn't enough excitement for one day, I found out that Beeston Ballet School also put on some truly fabulous theatre performances. So, after the class, I hung around to watch their production of "The Sleeping Beauty". It was magical! I swear, the costumes were the stuff of dreams and the music, oh the music, just transported you straight into a storybook world.

Honestly, it really reminded me why I fell in love with ballet all those years ago. The drama, the artistry, the way it can take you on a journey without ever leaving the stage... It's just magical, isn't it?

Of course, no journey would be complete without a bit of wildlife spotting. And luckily, Beeston didn't disappoint. I stumbled upon the most adorable family of ducks by the river, just having a little splash and preen, so perfectly relaxed in the sunshine. It was a complete picture postcard scene, and I had to whip out my camera for a little clickety-clack action!

It goes without saying, the journey back was just as fabulous as the day itself. The train journey was just beautiful, watching the countryside zoom by outside my window. And to top it all off, I snagged the perfect reading spot with an equally charming gentleman across the aisle, who totally complimented my tutu, (yes, really!), adding, β€œYou wear pink so well!”. What a gentleman!

This is what I love most about these travels, discovering all these hidden gems and making connections along the way. And hey, if we can spread a little pink tutu magic wherever we go, that's just an added bonus, wouldn't you say?

So, what are you waiting for? Dust off your tutus (or pick out a lovely shade of pink and head to the shops!) and let's go explore the world!
