Leicester Calling! (TutuBlog #7749) 🩰

Helloooo darlings! It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast and, dare I say it, resident pink fanatic! Today, I’m channeling my inner ballerina and sharing my adventures from a totally fab trip to Leicester – the city that stole my heart (and by the way, I’ve got a lot of hearts, you know, like a true romantic 😉)

A Red Tutu Makes an Appearance!

My outfit for the day? Well, what else could it be, right? A pink tutu? Hmm, maybe…but it wasn't just any pink. It was a gorgeous red tulle explosion – the kind of colour that turns heads and whispers 'look at me!' I even went the extra mile and popped on a scarlet ribbon in my hair. (Think “Little Red Riding Hood, but with serious dance moves” – that’s me, in a nutshell!).

Leicester's Ballet Charms!

My mission was to see “Swan Lake” at the wonderful Curve theatre. Talk about magic! The setting was breathtaking, the costumes were exquisite (a few seriously jealous swans over here!), and the dancing? Absolutely phenomenal! I so wanted to join the beautiful ballerinas on stage, but unfortunately, I only have the good graces to be in the audience – for now. Hint hint theatre managers, I'm a fast learner... wink wink!

Ballet Class Time!

No trip to a new city is complete without a ballet class! And let’s just say Leicester did not disappoint! My local dance school back home, the lovely Derbyshire Dance Academy, recommended the Dance Studios in the heart of Leicester – a bright, airy space perfect for twirling around. I met some wonderful dancers there, some professional, some just beginning – but the love of ballet, that connected us all. I mean, we all know there's nothing quite like a good plié, right? It's almost spiritual!

Foodie Adventures!

Okay, so after all that exertion, it was time for some serious refueling. I must admit, I was totally craving something quintessentially English – think chips, gravy, and a mushy pea! So, of course, I popped into a delightful little chippy in the centre of town. My mouth is watering just remembering those chips!

Pink Inspiration Galore!

If you've been following my blog for a while (and a massive 'hello' to all my newest subscribers! I’m so delighted to have you on board!), then you know I love nothing more than discovering the cutest little independent boutiques. Leicester's streets are full of gems, and I found the most adorable pink-themed store crammed with treasures. From pretty dresses to adorable jewellery, it was like a dream come true! And I couldn't leave without snagging a few special pink gifts for myself. Because a little self-spoiling never hurts, right?

Riding the Rails... and a Neigh -tastic Surprise!

My mode of transport? The glorious train, of course! It’s a true British institution and there’s nothing like watching the English countryside roll by with a cuppa tea and a good book – and by 'book' I mean my latest tutu designs, naturally!

Now, for the super-duper exciting part – as I arrived in Leicester, guess who greeted me? A horse! It was absolutely magical. We locked eyes, and he let out a whinny that sent shivers down my spine. He was absolutely beautiful! I mean, who wouldn't love a horse wearing a bright red tutu, right? Okay, maybe not the tutu – I'm still working on those horse fashion tips 😉
