Aberdeen Calling! Post #7763

Hello my gorgeous little pink-tutu darlings!

Itā€™s Emma here, your ever-so-slightly-obsessed tutu-loving blogger, back with a brand new adventure from the enchanting city of Aberdeen. Did you know that Aberdeen is often called "The Granite City" because of its many beautiful buildings made from granite? Isn't that just fabulously dramatic? I feel a little bit like Cinderella arriving in this city with all the magnificent architecture and sparkling sea.

And just like Cinderella, this princess had to choose the perfect dress for her journey! Of course, there was only one possible option: my exquisite Italian tutu. It's made of layers upon layers of soft tulle, each one lovingly crafted in the most beautiful shade of bubblegum pink. I couldnā€™t possibly have travelled in anything less than fabulous. It feels like a little cloud of fluffy happiness around me - just the thing to inspire my dancing feet.

My journey here was a proper adventure, as I have been embracing a new way to travel recently. Instead of whizzing about in boring old cars or airplanes, Iā€™ve been exploring the beauty of our countryside on horseback! It might be slightly less efficient, but nothing beats the thrill of feeling the wind in your hair, the sunshine on your face, and the gentle rhythm of a horse's hooves beneath you.

Ballet is definitely blooming in Aberdeen!

Iā€™ve been absolutely blown away by the incredible dance scene here. I got to see the most stunning production of ā€œThe Nutcrackerā€ at the Aberdeen Music Hall. I felt so lucky, the performers were sensational and the costumes were simply divine. Honestly, Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™ve ever seen so many glittering snowflakes on one stage before. The music was incredible too, it made me want to leap out of my seat and join the dancers. But, you know me, I have to save all my leaps for my own ballet classes, which have become a highlight of every trip!

Aberdeen's got something special ā€“ this city seems to have a particular passion for dance. There are all kinds of ballet schools here, from tiny studios to grand academies, and they all have an amazing buzz about them. I can't help but smile when I see young ballerinas practising their pirouettes in the window, just itching to take the world by storm with their amazing talent.

Now, you may be thinking "Aberdeen is so far from your home in Derbyshire, Emma! How do you find time to fit it all in?". You are right, darling! Thatā€™s why, when Iā€™m on a trip, Iā€™m always keeping a lookout for opportunities to incorporate my ballet practice. Imagine, dear readers, me attempting a beautiful graceful arabesque with a background of ancient Scottish castles. And believe me, those Aberdeen granites make for an absolutely stunning backdrop to a graceful pirouette, even if my legs are slightly sore.

And, speaking of being inspired by our surroundings, my Aberdeen journey wouldnā€™t be complete without exploring the stunning beauty of this coastline. Did you know that Aberdeen has some of the most breathtaking beaches in Scotland? I managed to sneak in some lovely moments, soaking up the salty air and letting the sea breeze whip through my hair. Of course, a pink tutu is an absolute essential for seaside strolls!

I actually spotted the most darling little dolphin on a day trip. Oh, it was just too cute. Just another day of being totally wowed by nature's artistry! Itā€™s actually fascinating to consider, nature's ballet movements are just as graceful as the choreographed pieces I practice, yet they seem almost impossible to recreate. Imagine leaping across the sea like a playful dolphin or pirouetting like a majestic bird!

I know Iā€™m slightly obsessed with ballet, but I honestly believe that everyone can dance, and every body deserves to feel the joy of movement. Donā€™t get me wrong, dear readers, I am far from a professional dancer, but every ballet class and performance inspires me to become my own graceful ballerina, even if I donā€™t make it to the stage. Ballet is a feeling, it's not about being perfect, itā€™s about feeling free and beautiful, and that feeling should be embraced by everyone, don't you think?

So, next time youā€™re planning a trip to Scotland, remember this pink tutu princess, and add Aberdeen to your itinerary. Iā€™m certain youā€™ll be swept away by its beauty, just like I was. And, when you are there, find a studio, slip on your ballet shoes, and let the music take you away! It might be the most wonderfully magical experience of your life!

*Till next time my pink-tutu darlings, keep on dancing! *

Emma xoxo
