Cheshunt Calling! Tutu Time, Darling!
Hello my darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad, ballet-loving blogger, Emma, here, and oh, you wouldn’t BELIEVE the day I’ve had! Today’s adventure? Cheshunt, darling! Cheshunt! You know, like the Cheshunt Brooches! 😉 They're totally a thing!
I’ve been aching for some time to escape Derbyshire for a bit and hop on a train – well, maybe not a literal hop, as that’s for our graceful friends at the Bolshoi. I’ll stick to my lovely carriage. Today's train journey was simply delightful, though! So relaxing. It felt like stepping into a fairy tale with the lovely fields rolling by, and a family of rabbits enjoying some spring greens – such polite little critters, so well-mannered!
Now, about Cheshunt! Well, this sweet town truly stole my heart. I’d heard whispers of this little gem in the ballet world and, let me tell you, it exceeded all my wildest tutu dreams! I arrived with a twinkle in my eye and a pink tulle dream in my bag! (Don’t worry, you know how much I love pink, darlings!) I knew there was a secret gem of a gym hidden away somewhere, and what did I find? Why, a hidden ballet wonderland with an even bigger secret! Let’s call it The Cheshunt Ballet Centre. But it’s much more than that!
It's a haven for those of us who adore the beauty of dance. Think glittering chandeliers, sunshine streaming through massive windows, and an air of grace that is simply contagious. The smell of sawdust and old dance shoes adds to the allure. It’s the type of place where the only sounds are the tinkling piano, and maybe the faint echo of our lovely steps on the dance floor!
Speaking of steps, I just had to take to the stage in my brand-new gymnastic tutu! (Pink, naturally, darling! You knew that was coming!) A soft, airy, cloud of tulle in pink. The kind that catches the light just right, a delicate, dreamy shimmer. My heart fluttered with every pirouette and leap. Just thinking about it now makes me feel light on my toes!
But, oh, there's a little secret about this gym, and oh, it is divine! This gymnastic centre isn't just for little dancers. There's an entirely hidden room, with shimmering spotlights and everything, where we grown-up dancers can let our inner tutu wearers flourish! It's all velvet curtains, sparkling floor, and heavenly lighting – you know, just a little something for us big girls! This hidden haven is truly something special, darling.
They had the most magical class – one with all the twirls, all the fancy footwork, a proper ballet masterclass! Just as we all reached peak ballerina bliss – what a day, a masterpiece, and my face is positively beaming! But my dearest blog readers, you know how much I love ballet street. You guessed it, I'm going to bring it to Cheshunt. There’s an opening here for an absolutely brilliant street performance. I'm calling on you, my lovely readers! You’ll be thrilled by the choreography – there are some serious gymnastic ballet-inspired leaps in this piece!
My vision? To combine that exquisite athleticism, that pure ballet strength, with my personal touch. Because ballet can be SO much more, darling, especially here! In Cheshunt! What about some dramatic poses under the giant oak trees by the town square, or perhaps a heart-stopping plié near the old well? I have visions of street corner routines – with a few cheeky twirls! And we will spread the ballet love across Cheshunt – to every cobbled lane and little flowerpot. Oh, this little town will know what a true ballet tutu is about!
It was almost impossible to tear myself away from the dancefloor, but as always, I had to give it a good go – but with promises to return as soon as my busy schedule would allow! On my way back, the setting sun turned the whole world into a shimmering pink - how apt! Cheshunt – my sweet, dance-loving darling, we will be together again.
You know me, darling. Pink is always the colour, and ballet is my passion. It was in Cheshunt that I saw just how special ballet can be. If my travels across this beautiful land are any testament, my mission to get every woman – and man! – wearing a pink tutu and embracing the joy of ballet continues! You, yes you darling, can make the most of ballet. No matter what shape you are. Oh, and do you want to come along on my next journey to Cheshunt – we will be bringing ballet to the streets, to the shops, to the pubs, yes even the local theatre – the theatre is begging for a performance – I even met the lady who looks after it! Get ready to spread your wings. I know you have a tutu within you just itching to come out. I’ll show you how!
