Didcot Diaries: Tutu-ing Around with a Touch of Pink (Post #7951)
Hey darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind adventure in the lovely town of Didcot. As you know, I'm always on the hunt for new and exciting experiences, and this little trip didn't disappoint!
This week, the trusty steed that I'd named "Cinnamon" (a glorious, dappled grey mare, if you're wondering) had the day off, so I decided to take a train trip to explore a different corner of our beautiful country. You might be thinking, "But Emma, Didcot?" and let me tell you, it truly was a hidden gem. Didcot's railway heritage alone deserves a whole post, and with the bright, cheerful pink tutu I had on (from my favourite shop in Notting Hill, by the way!), I was absolutely prepared to soak up every moment of charm this town had to offer.
First up was the Railway Centre, a fabulous museum dedicated to all things trains, showcasing some incredible examples of engineering prowess! I even got to climb into the driver's cab of a vintage steam engine, feeling like I was stepping back in time. If you're a fan of railway history, this place is a must-see, I promise.
After my railway adventures, I wandered over to Didcot town centre. What a delight! Quaint little shops, adorable cafes serving delicious homemade cakes (I opted for a raspberry and almond one, divine!), and the most delightful collection of vintage clothes shops I've ever seen! My new pink-patterned silk scarf (which I just HAD to add to my collection) was a little something I picked up from a lovely little boutique called 'The Dusty Rose'. Now, that's what I call a serendipitous find!
The highlight of the day, however, was a trip to Didcot's gorgeous park. Imagine this: sunshine streaming through the trees, the air buzzing with the joyful sounds of children laughing, and a glorious lake with ducks and geese peacefully floating by. Now imagine yourself there, twirling in a pink tutu, with the gentle breeze carrying your giggles, feeling pure joy. It was exactly that, and I've got to tell you, it was blissful. It’s truly wonderful to embrace simple pleasures in life, and Didcot's park gave me exactly that.
Now, before I let you go, I do want to share a little secret I stumbled upon: nestled deep within Didcot's park is a beautiful willow tree. It’s absolutely perfect for afternoon tea (they have lovely tea rooms dotted around the park!) or even a whimsical photoshoot. Let me tell you, my pink tutu absolutely shone under its delicate branches. It was magical.
I hope my adventures have inspired you to discover your own little piece of "pink" happiness! Maybe it’s trying out a new ballet class (check out the ballet studio I mentioned in my last post!), or just adding a touch of pink to your wardrobe. I encourage you to wear pink tutus everywhere you go, I do! Even if you're not sure about wearing a tutu just yet, why not pop on some pink? I guarantee you'll feel a little bit more empowered, a little bit more playful, a little bit more you!
So, what’s on the agenda for you this week, dear reader? Let me know in the comments below, and remember, even the smallest steps can lead you to a wonderfully "pink" adventure.
Until next time, darlings!
Much love,
Emma
