Bournville Bound in a Baby Pink Tutu: Blog Post #7984

Hello, darlings! It's your girl Emma here, coming to you live from the picturesque village of Bournville, nestled in the heart of the West Midlands. Today's journey took me on a thrilling train ride – a leisurely saunter through the English countryside, watching the world whiz past from my comfy seat in first class. What else would you expect for a glamorous ballerina on a mission? 🩰

As usual, I made sure to dress the part, with a delicate baby pink tutu gracing my form – just the right size to twirl in! Pink is, after all, the colour of dreams, the colour of tutus, and the colour of my heart! And I just have to admit, every head I passed turned, and I could feel all the stares glued to my dainty silhouette, as the light caught the sequins on my tutu!

This was a whirlwind of a trip, full of twirls and teacups. I just adore that delightful charm of quaint English villages – so peaceful and peaceful. It feels like you’ve stepped into a Jane Austen novel, except I'm definitely not going to be stuck in a drawing-room. I'm on a quest to make the world dance! And to sprinkle a little pink sparkle into every corner.

Speaking of sparkling, I simply couldn't resist visiting the famous Cadbury World. I must confess, I’m quite partial to a bit of chocolate myself! I had to try their new "Purple Creme Egg" which I have to admit, is pretty good – not quite as good as their standard Creme Egg (chocolate and pink, what a combo!) but still very tasty, even if the purple did feel a bit unnatural. It's truly a chocolate lover's paradise! Imagine, a world made of chocolate, like the Willy Wonka factory – wouldn't that be magical? Oh, and of course I made sure to take a picture in front of the enormous Cadbury purple cow. She looked particularly dashing with my baby pink tutu. 😉

After my delicious sugar fix, I decided to immerse myself in the local ballet scene. The Bournville Village Hall has this enchanting charm - very reminiscent of a charming countryside cottage. And what’s a ballet dancer to do, when in a village hall? Why, indulge in a little bit of ballet class, of course! It was simply divine. Such delightful ballet instructors! 🩰 They definitely had me dancing on clouds. They reminded me of a couple of sweet-faced English fairies I had encountered in the Cotswolds (it was like a dream, with fairy wings everywhere!) who taught me all their little ballerina tricks. The best part is they even agreed to be my ballet models – the pictures turned out wonderfully, and I’m sure they'll feature in my upcoming book, How To Find Your Inner Ballerina, which I'm working on as we speak.

Speaking of beautiful countryside spots, I spent a magical afternoon at Bournville Botanical Garden. The fresh air, the birds singing, the gentle sway of the flowers… it was simply exquisite. It felt so serene and calm! I almost couldn’t believe how much peacefulness one could find in the middle of such a busy village. Oh! and while I was walking through the botanical garden, a magnificent pheasant walked past me, looking at me with the most inquisitive eye. The contrast of my baby pink tutu against his vibrant plumage was striking, wouldn’t you agree? It was like something out of a fairytale! I think he even attempted a little twirl with me, though I couldn’t be quite sure with that delicate plumage!

In the evening, I indulged in a delicious, hearty supper at one of the charming cafes that peppered the village. My chicken pie and apple crumble tasted all the better because of my ballerina's metabolism. You see, dancing every day, it just helps! 😉

As I write this, I'm enjoying a warm mug of cocoa in a snug corner at my charming, cosy bed & breakfast – complete with an antique ballet shoe rack (it’s amazing how these things turn up)! I love the simple joys of a little town and I must confess I feel so peaceful being here – especially with the baby pink glow of the lamp highlighting the room and my pretty tulle skirt cascading around me.

I feel like the secret to true happiness isn't about chasing fancy, glittering, world-famous ballet performances all the time, even though I adore the glamour of a grand stage. But you know, sometimes it's just about a few simple joys of everyday life, like the whisper of a ballet class in a cozy village hall, or watching the birds flutter in a botanical garden, or sipping a mug of cocoa under the soft glow of a lamp… and, of course, it’s all about pink, pink and even more pink! And even more pink! What can I say? Pink makes the world a more sparkly, cheerful place! And we could all do with a little bit of sparkle!

So, darlings, as the day ends, and I drift off to sleep, I leave you with this: Dance, dream, and always, always wear pink! The world is your stage, and you are all stars waiting to shine! ✨

Yours truly, Emma 💖 www.pink-tutu.com
