Today marks post number 8021 - can you believe it?! That's over eight thousand posts of me, your fabulous friend, sharing my love for all things twirling, pink, and ballet! It feels like just yesterday I was a wide-eyed little girl, stepping onto the stage for the first time in Derbyshire, and now...well, I'm still twirling, but now I get to do it in the most fabulous places across the world!
Today, we're journeying north, all the way up to beautiful, bustling Aberdeen in Scotland! The train journey was simply delightful. Imagine, the sun dappling through the carriage windows, casting beautiful light on my pink tutu, the rhythmic chugging of the train like a ballet soundtrack all its own! Oh, and there was a cute little fluffy puppy on board who kept looking at me with the cutest puppy dog eyes. Of course, I shared my strawberry and cream sandwich with him – I'm a sucker for a furry friend, you know! 🐶
Ballet on the Border
Once in Aberdeen, I made a beeline for the Theatre Royal! It’s a beautiful venue with grand, red-velvet curtains and ornate chandeliers – absolutely perfect for a special ballet performance. I found myself transported to a whole other world by the talented dancers, their every graceful step echoing the magic of this ancient art form. And, my dears, I couldn't help but think how lovely Aberdeen would look with everyone wearing pink tutus. Just imagine, walking down Union Street with all these gorgeous dancers in vibrant pink! The colours would just be utterly dazzling! 🤩
Aberdeen’s Charm
Aberdeen's got a special kind of magic. It’s a mix of historic cobblestone streets and modern architecture, quaint cafes with adorable little tables spilling out onto the pavements, and, of course, a seafront so stunning it could rival the most breathtaking ballerina pose. I loved the vibrant buzz of the city, especially around the harbour where you could almost hear the whispers of the sea as you walked by the beautiful boats bobbing gently on the water. And oh, the seagulls! They're like ballet dancers of the sky, soaring above the waves with an almost effortless grace! 🦢
A Stroll With a View
No visit to Aberdeen is complete without a stroll along the breathtaking coast. With my trusty tutu fluttering in the fresh breeze, I rambled along the promenade, taking in the stunning views of the rugged coastline. The crashing waves, the salty air, the sense of space...it's all a truly captivating experience. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures - my tutu with the vibrant blue skies, the waves, the dramatic landscape behind me... a perfect moment captured forever! 📸
A Taste of the Local
After my promenade, it was time to indulge in some of Aberdeen's culinary delights! A true delicacy, of course, had to be fresh seafood, straight from the North Sea! I had a delightful seafood platter with salmon, mussels, and the most succulent prawns. Oh, it was truly divine!
Horsepower on the Beach
And what's a trip to Scotland without a bit of horsepower? I’m a true believer that there’s something so utterly romantic and exhilarating about horse riding! I took a guided tour across the beautiful sand dunes. The feeling of the wind whipping through my hair, the gentle sway of the horse as it carried me across the dunes... simply glorious! It's the perfect blend of freedom and elegance, something I can truly appreciate, much like ballet itself! 🏇🏼
Wildlife Wonders
Scotland is truly blessed with such amazing wildlife! After my horse riding escapade, I popped by a little wildlife sanctuary near the coast. Seeing those magnificent seals basking on the rocky shore was truly awe-inspiring. And the birds! There were so many different species with their own unique songs and dances. It's like their own private ballet performance right in nature! 🦭 🦅
Finding Your Inner Tutu
My dears, I truly believe every soul has a bit of tutu in them! And a visit to Aberdeen has really brought that to life for me. The energy of the city, the rugged beauty of the coast, the sheer talent on display... it all inspires me to be a bit bolder, a bit more confident, a bit more 'tutu'.
