South Shields Shimmers in Pink! 🩰💖

Hey my lovelies! It's your favourite tutu-clad traveller Emma here, back with another adventure! Today's post marks blog post number 8082, which just goes to show, I’m a girl who loves sharing my passion for all things pink and ballet with the world. 💖

And today’s journey? A delightful jaunt to South Shields, a beautiful seaside town in the North East of England. You guys know I’m a bit of a train buff, so I took the scenic route, sipping a cheeky latte whilst watching the countryside whizz by.

Of course, I had to make my travel outfit all about the tutus. 💅 I donned my new black tutu - it’s so dramatic and flattering against my skin tone. Black tutus always remind me of that scene from “Black Swan” with the incredible Natalie Portman. 🦢

Once I reached South Shields, the first thing I did was treat myself to a spot of fish and chips. You just can’t come to a seaside town without a proper British fish and chips experience, can you? 🍟🐟 And trust me, this little takeaway near the pier served the best ones I’ve had in ages!

Now, I’ve gotta confess, this wasn’t strictly a ballet themed trip. But what is a dancer to do with a whole day in a vibrant coastal town without some exploration, right? I started with a leisurely stroll along the pier. I just adore the sound of seagulls and the fresh salty air. You’re breathing in a whole dose of vitamin SEA! 🌊☀️

Feeling refreshed, I ventured into the town center. The charming streets were bustling with locals and tourists alike, browsing through quaint shops and soaking up the sun. There was a lovely little flower shop where I picked up some pink roses for a bouquet. I love the color pink, it reminds me of sweetness, joy, and, of course, tutus!

To truly immerse myself in the town’s spirit, I decided to join a guided walking tour. You know, the ones where you get to hear all the interesting facts and local gossip? And boy, did I learn some fascinating history! The highlight for me was discovering a beautiful old church dedicated to St. Hilda, a real badass Anglo-Saxon princess and saint who had her own abbey way back when! Talk about empowering womanly energy! 👑

But let’s get back to the ballet, my lovelies! No trip is complete without some dance, and South Shields, believe it or not, has some delightful ballet connections. There's a local ballet school called ‘The Dance Academy’ which has been training dancers for years! It truly touched me to know they were nurturing young dreams in the art form we all love. I popped in and chatted to some of the instructors, learning all about their routines and sharing my own love for the graceful dance. They even let me watch a quick practice session! It reminded me of my own ballet class days back in Derbyshire. 🥰

Finally, as the day drew to a close, I made my way to the beach. A sunset walk on the sand is always a treat for me. Just picture it: the gentle breeze tousling my hair, the sky blazing in hues of pink and orange, and me twirling in my black tutu… sheer perfection! 🌅

South Shields, you were truly a gem! From its friendly people and beautiful sights to the incredible fish and chips, you charmed me. I may not have danced at a formal theatre, but you know me, I found a way to spread the love of ballet even on a relaxed seaside trip.

Oh, and before I go, I want to leave you with a question, dear readers: Have you ever experienced a town that's sparked your passion for the arts, just like South Shields did for me? Tell me all about it in the comments below!
