Prestwich Calling! (Pink Tutu Post #8214)

Hello my darling Tutu Tribe!

It's Emma here, fresh from a whirl of twirls in the glorious city of Prestwich! This little gem nestled just outside of Manchester is bursting with ballet goodness and a sprinkle of that Pink Tutu magic you all know I love!

Now, I know you're thinking "Prestwich? Emma, where's the adventure?" But believe me, darling, Prestwich was an absolute delight. There's a certain charm to the smaller towns and cities, and Prestwich embodies that beautifully. It felt like stepping back in time, a kind of charmingly quaint, independent, village-like atmosphere, but with all the amenities of a modern city! It really hit that perfect balance for a solo travelling tutu-clad ballerina.

My journey started at the iconic Manchester Piccadilly station, the bustle of it all was an electrifying way to begin my day. But I couldn't resist a touch of romanticism, so instead of hopping on the train, I indulged in the Victorian elegance of a horse and carriage. That's right! This beautiful creature took me on a slow, meandering ride through the cobblestone streets of Manchester city centre. I swear I could see a twinkle in the horse's eye as we ambled towards the stunning Victorian architecture, the carriage ride was just magical - you just have to experience it!

Prestwich was a short jaunt from the city centre, and the journey gave me time to fully absorb my surroundings. The train was brimming with people all chattering excitedly in that distinctive Mancunian accent. I almost felt like I was stepping into a book about Victorian England with everyone talking about the "weather" and the "football". Honestly, there was something incredibly charming about it! I can't remember the last time I heard people being so genuine and polite!

The village itself was full of those sweet little shops that just seem to exist for a very particular clientele โ€“ you know, those antique stores crammed with china dolls, or vintage shops stacked to the ceiling with clothes from the roaring twenties and a smattering of those trendy bohemian dresses with beads and lace! I indulged in a delightful spot of window shopping (naturally with a Pink Tutu dress!), followed by a warm cuppa in a quaint little tearoom โ€“ just the thing for a girly girl who needs a dose of nostalgia.

But my darling Tutu Tribe, you all know why I truly ventured to Prestwich, right? Ballet of course! The beautiful Prestwich Arts Centre played host to a breathtaking performance by The Royal Ballet - "Swan Lake", an eternal favourite. You all know I adore a little ballet! My heart melted as the dancers effortlessly glided across the stage in that dramatic blend of grace and strength that just fills you with a deep, deep sense of wonder. I even found myself nodding my head to the beautiful score and almost wanting to jump on stage myself - which might have looked rather dramatic, but also, kind of amazing! Maybe a little Pink Tutu performance for a new audience in 2019? We can but dream...

Afterward, I met a darling ballet teacher at a local dance school called the "Dance Studio" (so original!). The studio is run by the most positive and energetic woman I have ever met. She just oozed this aura of kindness and love for dance, she even persuaded me to try a little drop-in class! You're all well aware of how much I love a good ballet session. I really let loose in this warm and friendly studio. This class was everything a ballet class should be - gentle guidance, encouragement, fun and the purest expression of dance, it was absolutely bliss! The icing on the cake was meeting a lovely local ballet enthusiast who, believe it or not, wears pink tutus on occasion (you can read more about this in my blog tomorrow!). She had heard all about my Pink Tutu mission, and she really embraced the "wear it, be it" mentality. She is now, officially, a proud member of our Tutu Tribe!

You see darling, this little gem of a place is brimming with creativity and genuine warmth, I just fell in love with Prestwich! And the best part? It is full of Pink Tutu moments just waiting to be explored. If you want to go for a delightful wander, get lost in an inspiring world of ballet, and indulge your inner romantic in a beautiful and quaint town, I highly recommend a little visit to Prestwich, you won't be disappointed!

Don't forget my Tutu Tribe - embrace your inner ballet enthusiast, put on a Pink Tutu and go and try something new! I am telling you - it's going to be absolutely magical!

Until next time, my lovely Tribe - twirl, spin, dance, and let the magic of the ballet flow through your soul!

Much Love,
Emma,
