TutuBlog #8236: Melton Mowbray - Pink Tutu Adventures in the Midlands!

Hello my lovely TutuTribe! 👋💖

It’s Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, reporting live from the charming market town of Melton Mowbray! This week I’m swapping the cobbled streets of Derby for the rolling hills of Leicestershire – and let me tell you, I’m absolutely loving it!

Today’s tutu outfit is all about vibrant pink and a touch of cheeky sparkle. I’ve paired my new ‘Fairytale Ballet’ tutu with a fluffy pink cardigan (because even a tutu-clad dancer needs a bit of warmth on a chilly January day!) and my favourite pair of glittery ballet pumps. They really add that extra touch of sparkle and, believe me, they've been turning heads all morning!

I travelled by train, of course! Nothing beats the romantic feeling of a scenic journey. The views from the window were spectacular – rolling countryside dotted with charming little villages. It was like stepping into a fairytale, and it really put me in the mood for some balletic adventures!

Speaking of adventures, I'm in Melton Mowbray for the town's famous 'Melton Mowbray Ballet Week'. It's a celebration of everything ballet, with classes, workshops, performances and even a ballet-themed market! You could say I'm in my element! 😄

I spent this morning learning some seriously fun contemporary moves at the 'Dance Academy' – they've got some incredible teachers here, and I picked up some fab tips that I can’t wait to practice back in Derby! The highlight was definitely getting to learn a choreography from a renowned choreographer - it's so rewarding to be challenged and learn something completely new!

In the afternoon, I took a lovely stroll through the historic streets of Melton Mowbray, which is famous for its pork pies – and of course, I had to sample one (they’re actually really tasty!). It’s funny how I can always find a little ballet inspiration everywhere I go. Today, it was the perfectly symmetrical lattice pattern of the pie crust. Ballet and pies – it’s a beautiful mix, if I do say so myself!

As dusk descended, it was time for a little ballet treat – I got to see a spectacular performance at the town's beautiful theatre. A breathtaking blend of classic and contemporary ballet, it showcased some incredible talent. The story was so enchanting, and I found myself completely lost in the world of dance. I even got a little teary-eyed at the end. You know me, I’m a sucker for a good emotional performance!

Speaking of emotions, that’s what I love so much about ballet! It’s a truly universal language that connects us all through stories, emotions, and beauty. It transcends boundaries, and I just love the idea that anyone can be a ballerina, anywhere, anytime!

Melton Mowbray is certainly a haven for ballet enthusiasts. And who knows? Maybe someday soon I'll even try my hand at pie-making with a twist – a ballet-inspired pie, with pastry that twirls and swirls, that would be truly spectacular, wouldn't it?!

I have to say, Melton Mowbray has captured a special place in my pink-tutu heart. It’s full of friendly people, stunning landscapes and of course, delicious pork pies.

Before I sign off, remember – don’t be afraid to embrace the pink and get your tutu on! Life is too short to be serious all the time. You never know where a little ballet magic will take you!

Until next time, keep those twirls twirling! 💕

P.S. Be sure to share your own pink tutu adventures with me using the hashtag #PinkTutuTribe on Instagram. I love seeing your style inspiration!
