Basildon Bound: A Tutu-tastic Train Journey and a Tiny Tutu!

Helloooo my lovelies! It’s Emma here, your resident pink-tutu enthusiast, and it’s a new day, which means a new adventure, which means…a new blog post! Twirls excitedly in a gorgeous fuchsia tulle tutu

Today I’m on the cusp of a magical ballet journey. Destination: Basildon! I’m going to see the Royal Ballet's Romeo and Juliet at the Towngate Theatre. Gasp! The ballet's been on my must-see list for ages, and finally, I’m seeing it!

And of course, my fellow Tutu-ers, no Emma adventure is complete without a fabulous outfit! Now, you all know I love a full, fluffy tutu – but sometimes a girl needs a change! Today, I'm going for a totally different look! It’s a gorgeous pink and ivory creation, a little more demure, with a hint of vintage flair. Think elegant ballerina, not a sugary candy floss princess, but still just as sparkly and delightful! winks

I always find train journeys so relaxing, you know? You get to look out the window at the world flitting by, lost in your own little world of pink-tutu dreams!

My train carriage today feels very ‘The Secret Garden' - it’s a little stuffy but filled with vibrant green seats, reminiscent of that old, classic children’s book. I can already picture myself stepping onto the platform in Basildon, twirling across the station in my tutu, right into the arms of Shakespeare's tragic lovers! dreams

As I settle into my journey, a beautiful family of foxes run by, right alongside the train track! My goodness! Their russet fur shimmered in the sunlight, and for a fleeting moment, I thought they might hop onto the train! Those foxy faces made me giggle and remember how much I love nature’s little bursts of magic. Just like those adorable creatures, there's a bit of wildness within each of us! (Though my version of wild might include a slightly more extravagant dance performance).

I love watching the landscape change as I travel. Today, the trees are bursting into blossom, all shades of pale pink and peach – just like my tutu! beams The flowers make me think about the graceful beauty of nature, which I find truly inspirational. I’ve often said that nature is the ultimate source of elegance and beauty! That’s why I believe that wearing a pink tutu, and being drawn to dance, has this powerful ability to help us connect to our inner wild spirit, like a delicate, fluttering, beautiful flower. twirls again

Finally, I’m approaching Basildon, and I can feel my excitement building! I love stepping into a new town. There’s always so much to discover, so many delicious smells wafting from the local bakery, so much beautiful architecture…and of course, that magic of stepping into the theater!

Okay, time to disembark, lovelies! This ballet adventure awaits! I’ll fill you in on all the details of the performance tomorrow, but for now, keep on twirling, keep on believing in the magic of pink tutus and keep on inspiring the world to dance!

I’ll catch you tomorrow, my lovely Tutu-ers!

XOXO

Emma
