Kirkby Calling! ?

Hello my beautiful pink tutu darlings! ?

I hope you're all having a fabulously fabulous day, filled with sunshine and twirls. As for me, I've been on a mini-adventure to Kirkby! It's just a little hop from my home in Derbyshire, but every journey feels like a big adventure when you're dressed in your favourite pink tutu, don't you think?

This week's mission? A visit to the fabulous Kirkby Ballet Company. ? I was so excited to see what this incredible group of dancers were up to, especially as I'd heard they were performing a new piece inspired by the wildlife found in the local nature reserve! How could I resist?

Onward by Train!

This trip involved my favourite mode of transport - the train! It's something I could get used to, gliding along the countryside, watching the scenery pass by. So relaxing! I even spotted a cheeky squirrel trying to steal a nut from a passing picnic basket. (Don't worry, it got caught in the act!).

Arriving in Kirkby, it felt like I had stepped into a wonderland of colour and life! I immediately felt the creative buzz in the air, and it got me so pumped for my dance class!

Sparkling in My Pink Tutu

There's just something about a pink tutu that makes me feel like a princess, and for today's class I'd chosen a sparkly one with feathers, oh yes! (You all know I love feathers!), It really felt like I was going on a ballet adventure to the magical kingdom of the wild. I always get compliments on my pink tutus - they really brighten up any space. ? Maybe one day everyone will join the pink tutu movement and spread some joy to the world!

Class is in Session!

Kirkby Ballet's studio was a dream come true! The lighting was perfect for practicing those big jumps, and I loved all the beautiful vintage posters and prints adorning the walls. They had an inspirational feeling, reminding us all that dance is a beautiful art form to be celebrated and loved.

The class itself was a whirlwind of energy and fun! The instructor, a charming young woman with a playful spirit, really brought out the creativity in us. We explored some amazing ballet exercises and she introduced us to some fun, modern techniques. I loved the focus on nature-inspired movements - leaps like eagles soaring, pirouettes as graceful as a fox slinking through the trees, and lunges like deer bounding across the meadow.

I can't tell you how much I loved learning those moves! I even surprised myself with the strength and flexibility that my dancing brings out! The more you practice, the more magical you become, right? ?

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love

The best part about any ballet adventure? Sharing it with other passionate dancers! There was such a lovely, supportive community at Kirkby, full of inspiring people who love their ballet as much as I do. I always try to be positive and encouraging with my fellow dancers – who needs negativity when you can have sparkly tutus, right? ?

The day wouldn't have been complete without a cheeky selfie in my pink tutu, showing off my newly acquired moves.

Sharing the Love!

Have you ever tried ballet? Even if you don't feel like a natural dancer, I promise, it's a fantastic way to boost your mood, learn something new, and just have a little fun. Who knows, maybe one day I'll see you wearing a pink tutu, joining me in a dance studio, a theatre, or even the countryside! ? That would be a dream!

See you tomorrow for more Pink Tutu adventures!

Stay happy, twirl often!
