Dunstable: Tutu-ing Around the County!

Hello darlings! Emma here, bringing you another day of pink perfection and tutus galore. This is post number 8427, and today I’m whisking you all away to the charming town of Dunstable in Bedfordshire!

It's been a bit of a whirlwind week, but honestly, every week feels that way when you live life at the speed of a pirouette! It all started with a trip to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, to see a magnificent performance of Swan Lake – it was absolutely spellbinding. I was in the front row and just swooned at the breathtaking beauty of it all. The tutus, the costumes, the choreography… perfection! The highlight had to be the swan's corps de ballet, they were like swans gliding on air! Honestly, it left me with such a desire to practice and get better! But back to the real reason I'm writing today - my foray into Dunstable.

This lovely town in Bedfordshire has been calling to me for a while. You see, my granny, bless her soul, was a big fan of the wildlife reserve on the outskirts of Dunstable called the RSPB Reserve. So, I thought it was high time I made the journey, a pilgrimage in her honor, and paid a visit! Now, let’s talk fashion: I travelled there in style, naturally, on a romantic vintage train - who wouldn't fall in love with those velvet seats? But, darling, you just have to see the dress! I picked this beautiful pink tutu from a charming shop in Covent Garden – it had layers upon layers of tulle and the softest pink that made me practically glow. To match the vintage vibe of the train journey, I decided to embrace my inner Bridgerton and chose a lacey white top with a touch of frill. So very chic!

After settling into a cosy hotel room in Dunstable – the name escapes me at the moment, something flowery – I grabbed a little picnic basket (filled with delicious pastries and fresh fruit, of course) and set off to the RSPB Reserve. You'll never believe this: I actually bumped into an adorable little hedgehog right by the entrance! It was just the cutest thing, I even gave it some crumbs from my picnic (with careful supervision, of course - wouldn't want to upset its little tummy!)

Walking through the reserve was an absolute dream! I saw all kinds of delightful birds, including a stunning pair of kingfishers, with their vibrant blue and orange feathers – gorgeous! The sunshine, the chirping birds, and the fresh air… I felt completely rejuvenated!

In the afternoon, I decided to explore the charming cobbled streets of Dunstable itself. Honestly, I'm a huge fan of cobbled streets, they have so much history! I discovered a sweet little antique shop – just full of fascinating treasures. After browsing for a while, I even found a lovely little antique teacup, perfect for my collection. Now, let me tell you about this teacup… it had the most delightful design on it – delicate roses and dainty birds. It reminded me of the porcelain tea sets my mum has been collecting for years – absolutely divine. It almost made me want to plan an afternoon tea with my mum – so classic and sophisticated!

Before the day ended, I had a very exciting encounter – a rather charming gentleman – actually approached me in the local tea room. Now, I must confess, it wasn’t a standard "are you single" situation! No, he asked me about my tutu and how I felt about ballet. Imagine! How wonderful is it that he had the confidence to approach a woman like myself and chat about our shared love for the beautiful world of ballet. The man even told me he’s in the midst of learning to waltz – how utterly romantic!

This little journey has once again reinforced my love for travelling and exploring new places. It's just so exhilarating to experience new sights, cultures and meet such fascinating people!

Remember my dear readers: Life is too short to wear boring clothes and miss out on life’s opportunities to spread joy, elegance and of course, wear your pink tutu. Be bold, be beautiful, and never stop dancing through life. I promise, it's the best way to experience the world!

Catch you tomorrow for more pink adventures!
