Ecclesfield: A Tutu-tastic Adventure

Oh, hello darlings! Emma here, reporting live from the charming village of Ecclesfield, just a hop, skip, and a twirl away from my Derbyshire home! It’s such a sunny September morning, the air is crisp and the birds are singing, a perfect day for a ballerina on the go!

Today’s journey began with the most whimsical mode of transport: a carriage ride! Yes, you read that right! My darling friend, Amelia, has a gorgeous chestnut mare named Luna, and I’m thrilled to be her passenger. We galloped through the rolling countryside, the wind in my hair, a giggle escaping my lips every few seconds. Such freedom! Such joy!

But why Ecclesfield? Why this picturesque village? You see, my loves, it’s home to the enchanting Ecclesfield Arts Centre! This haven of creativity has a performance lined up this evening – a rendition of “Swan Lake” that I absolutely cannot miss. A ballerina can never get enough swan lake, right?!

However, I wouldn’t dare just waltz into the theatre without a good warm-up. So, I found a charming local ballet school, nestled amidst the cobbled streets. These quaint studios have a certain vintage elegance to them. I swear, I could smell the sweet aroma of the vintage rosin they probably used to polish the wooden floors, oh my! After stretching and getting my pirouettes in order, I decided to venture out to explore this lovely town.

Speaking of exploration, I must tell you all about the beautiful wildlife I saw today! There were graceful squirrels darting up ancient oak trees, plump robins singing sweetly on the rooftops, and even a cheeky fox trotted past with a cheeky gleam in his eye. I’m not going to lie, it felt like being in one of those romantic classic novels, with a sprinkle of magic on top.

But back to the real reason for my Ecclesfield escapade! The Ecclesfield Arts Centre truly lives up to its name! The exterior, with its classic brickwork and warm lighting, looks as inviting as a freshly-baked scone. I almost squealed when I stepped into the lobby, the smell of popcorn was filling the air, a wonderful scent that immediately takes me back to my childhood movie days! And then my eyes beheld the stage! I have to admit, I nearly jumped for joy when I saw the backdrop, a magical shimmering lake that would transport anyone straight to a fantastical ballet world!

The ballet itself was exquisite. It’s truly something magical, how a story comes alive with such grace and athleticism, the power and passion flowing from the stage, each move perfectly choreographed! And the costumes were truly a work of art – delicate, flowing tutus that skimmed the floor. I was utterly captivated, and, by the final bow, my heart felt full of pure ballet joy. It’s moments like these that remind me why I’m so deeply in love with the world of ballet.

Now, here comes the part where I bring in my personal touch of Pink Tutu flair, darlings! Because of course, I wore a pink tutu to Ecclesfield! Not just any pink tutu, mind you! It’s a gorgeous blush-pink, with layers of soft, flowing tulle that made every step a whisper of a twirl. And for my outfit, a fitted, elegant ivory blouse paired with a pink and cream ribbon belt and a delicate string of pearls – simple yet classic, perfect for a graceful day trip!

But don’t just take my word for it, darlings! My Instagram @EmmaTutu is chock-full of pictures from my Ecclesfield escapade! (Just make sure you’ve finished your cuppa and taken a few deep breaths before scrolling! 😉).

It wasn’t all ballet and tutu-clad shenanigans though! In the spirit of embracing the everyday beauty around us, I did indulge in a bit of afternoon tea at a sweet little café in the town centre, complete with delicate finger sandwiches and creamy, sugary scones. After all, a little afternoon tea break is always the perfect antidote to a delightful afternoon out.

Ecclesfield was absolutely magical, with a touch of fairytale charm that left me wanting more. So, my loves, this is a must-visit for any ballerina-at-heart, especially for those who adore a delightful blend of culture, nature and of course, the art of dance! And, if you're brave enough, dare to wear pink! (But maybe save the tutus for the theatre. Unless you’re into being a little extra... in which case, rock that tutu everywhere!)

See you on www.pink-tutu.com tomorrow, loves! Don’t forget to join the Pink Tutu revolution, one ballerina at a time!

With love and a twirl, Emma 💖

P.S: Let’s break the taboo on pink tutus, darling. It's all about embracing the joyful freedom of expressing yourself. After all, pink isn't just a color, it’s a state of mind! And a pink tutu? Pure, unadulterated bliss! 😉 💖
