Carshalton Calling: A Tutu-ful Trip to the Home of the Lavender Fields

#TutuBlog 8481

Hey gorgeous gals, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It's Emma here, fresh from a glorious trip to Carshalton in sunny Surrey. I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement to tell you all about it, because Carshalton is basically a dream destination for any girl with a passion for ballet and pink (ahem, like me!).

First of all, can we just appreciate the pure magic of the journey itself? My dear, darling dad drove me down from Derbyshire - such a special treat to spend the time together. Of course, I couldn't let the opportunity to make a statement slip by. I had to add my personal touch, wouldn't you agree? So naturally, I donned my go-to, ultra-feminine hot pink tutu with a crisp white ballet blouse, and you know, I swear, even the trees were giving me the side eye with jealousy. I mean, it was that fabulous!

Speaking of the journey, I had a little tea break en route, at a truly delightful tea shop - let's call it The Cunningham & Crumpet. Imagine, scones with lashings of cream, finger sandwiches galore, and delicate china teacups. And all served with a smile! It truly put me in the mood for Carshalton's graceful charms.

Oh, but before we dive into the highlights, allow me to indulge in a bit of ballet lore for a moment. You know, Carshalton, believe it or not, has a rich history of dance! This charming place is, in fact, considered to be the birthplace of Ballet Russe. And did you know? A famous dancer named Vaslav Nijinsky graced these very streets, with his electrifying leaps and impossibly long legs - it's like, a slice of ballet history in every quaint corner!

But right now, I'm all about those vibrant Lavender Fields. Now, listen closely, darling: it's almost as if a celestial painter had dipped their brush in the most divine shades of lavender and violet and splashed it across the landscape. I tell you, my camera just went wild. I'm practically living my Instagram dreams, and there’s even a little tea room with stunning views over the fields where I, of course, indulged in a delectable scone with the most amazing lavender tea! Pure perfection!

Now, my heart knows how to find beauty, and beauty knows where to find me. And you bet, Carshalton had some absolute stunners - breathtaking Victorian houses with floral gardens bursting with colour, elegant cafes that look like they came straight out of a fairy tale book, and that unmistakable British charm that melts my heart. It’s a total ballet dream!

And I had to make it extra special, of course. What's a TutuBlogger's life without a good ol' fashion performance? I found a little open-air theatre, nestled under a canopy of leaves and, wait for it... I treated the locals to a delightful, little, pink tutu performance! They were mesmerized! Even a family of fluffy squirrels came down from the tree to have a peek – talk about an attentive audience!

And if Carshalton's already got you dreaming of your own adventure, my lovely friends, here's a little tip from your favorite TutuBlogger: Grab a cute pink dress, throw on a pastel pink scarf, and find the nearest park. It's all about the spirit of dancing amongst the flowers! Just picture it, you, in your tutu, twirling under the sunny sky. Now, isn't that delightful?

Remember, darling, this life is meant for twirling.

Much love, Emma
