Kendal Calling: A Tutu Adventure in the Lake District

Post Number 8484

Hello, my lovely pink tutu followers! Today, I’m venturing outside the world of classical ballet and diving headfirst into a different kind of adventure. Well, actually, I’m more floating headfirst in a dreamy, whimsical style… you know me! I'm wearing my black tutu – oh, it looks so elegant and dramatic against the backdrop of Kendal’s rolling hills! 😉

For those of you who haven’t heard of Kendal Calling, it's a four-day music festival in the heart of the Lake District. It's known for its eclectic mix of music, art, and comedy – basically, it’s everything a festival should be, and more! And I, your resident pink tutu devotee, just had to add a little tutu flair to the proceedings.

Journey to the North

The journey itself was a proper adventure, of course. Leaving the green Derbyshire hills, I embarked on a train journey through the heart of England. The train was humming along at a pace that almost had me leaping up and twirling in the carriage. I could have easily launched into a sequence of jetés – and who knows, maybe I will next time! 🤫

However, the landscape outside my window truly stole the show. Rolling green fields and sparkling rivers slipped past like a moving painting. I found myself captivated by the beauty of it all, which was perfect preparation for the natural wonders of the Lake District itself.

Festival Fun with a Tutu Twist

Arriving at Kendal Calling, I was greeted with a flurry of activity. Bands were soundchecking, people were setting up tents, and the air was electric with excitement. Everyone was smiling, everyone was excited, and I was ready to embrace the festival spirit with a twinkle in my eye (and a graceful twirl, of course!).

My trusty black tutu became the perfect festival accessory. It added a touch of whimsy to the chaotic, vibrant energy. The smiles and compliments I received were truly heartwarming. I love being a living, breathing advertisement for my love of all things tutu – a true pink tutu evangelist! 😉

Tutu-tastic Adventures

Now, I wouldn't be a true festival-goer if I didn’t get involved in all the activities! So far, I've been rocking out to some incredible bands, tried a selection of food that even my picky self can appreciate, and even watched a comedic act that had me crying with laughter. It was truly wonderful to experience all these different activities with the backdrop of the Lake District’s dramatic beauty.

Of course, I’ve also made some truly wonderful friends along the way – fellow festival-goers who share my love for a good laugh and, you guessed it, a little bit of tutu-inspired fun!

Kendal Calling’s Unexpected Charm

What surprised me most was the beauty of the natural world here. We are surrounded by lush greenery, breathtaking vistas, and the tranquility of the lakes themselves. It felt like a truly magical place where nature and art came together in perfect harmony – truly, a little slice of heaven!

And amidst it all, my black tutu seemed to fit right in, a little bit of magical fairytale whimsy nestled amongst the beauty of the countryside. Even amidst the festival crowds, it was as if a calming presence surrounded me, letting me fully experience the moment without the stress and worries of city life.

My Message from the Heart of the Lake District

This journey to Kendal Calling has been an inspiring one. It's made me even more convinced that life is truly a celebration! We should never forget to embrace the beauty around us, to embrace a little whimsy, and most importantly, to embrace the fun in all its forms.

Oh, and if you haven’t tried it yet, my lovely followers, don’t be afraid to put on a pink tutu and dance your heart out. There’s nothing more freeing than feeling the joy of movement, the thrill of self-expression, and the power of spreading a little tutu-inspired joy around you.

Now, I’m off to watch a performance by a folk band – with my tutu, of course. Join me on my Instagram, www.instagram.com/emmapinktutu, for more live updates of my Kendal Calling experience! Until next time, stay fabulous and embrace the fun! 💖
