Bilston Bound in a Feather Tutu - Post 8504!

Hey darlings! Emma here, reporting live from… well, you’ll never guess where I’ve landed up this time!

Bilston! Yep, that's right, the lovely town of Bilston, right here in the heart of the West Midlands.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, "Bilston?! Isn’t that, like, a bit rough?" And well, it might have a reputation (some say!), but I found it absolutely charming. Plus, it has this fabulous new ballet school which just had to be seen! And when you've got a feathered pink tutu screaming for an outing, well, you can't really say no, can you?

Speaking of tutus, let’s talk about the pinkest feather one I own – it was a bit of a splurge, but trust me, it’s pure magic. Imagine, if you will, a cloud of the softest pink imaginable, delicate as a blush, shimmering with thousands of little feather bits that dance with every pirouette. Just heavenly!

Anyway, I decided to take the train to Bilston. You see, my sweet old mare, Belle, is on a bit of a spa break down in the New Forest – a well-deserved rest after that whirlwind trip to Brighton last week (must write about that soon, stay tuned for all the seagull adventures!). But don't worry, she'll be back to whisk me away on some more equestrian escapades soon!

As the train chugged its way past green fields and charming little villages, I couldn't help but feel like a true Victorian heroine on a secret mission. In fact, this feather tutu was on a secret mission, to spread the joy of ballet!

Arriving at the Bilston station, I was struck by a strange mix of Victorian grandeur and a very industrial vibe. (Apparently, they were famous for their locks! Who knew?). Anyway, the ballet school was right on the edge of town, a lovely, historic building, a bit like a sweet little cottage with a secret garden out back. I could hear the music even before I entered, and I just had to waltz in with my feathered glory.

The owner of the school, Mrs. Croft (oh, so elegant with a name like that!), was absolutely lovely. She told me all about their unique style of ballet, where they fuse traditional technique with a modern twist, and even offer classes in… wait for it… Bollywood ballet! It’s just what Bilston needs, I thought. She was thrilled to have me join in on one of the classes, and let me tell you, those Bilston ballerinas are seriously talented! There’s one girl called Poppy who can pirouette like a ballerina twice her age, I'll have to write her a letter! I even had the pleasure of joining in a mini-Bollywood number at the end of class - what a way to feel empowered! I think even the steelworks workers had a good chuckle, the look on their faces as I spun out the door on a whirlwind of feather and pink was priceless!

Oh, and the icing on the cake? Mrs. Croft just loves wildlife as much as I do, so naturally we spent half the time swooning over pictures of her new cockatiel! We bonded over a shared love for our feathered friends.

And speaking of wildlife… Did I mention the lovely, lush green fields right on the outskirts of Bilston? As I was strolling home after my ballet class, I saw a family of hedgehogs – it was so magical! And speaking of magical, the sunset was so pink and peachy, you’d have thought I painted the sky myself with my tutu! Seriously, it was a moment to remember. I stood there in my fluffy tutu, the sunset blazing around me, and thought to myself… I should come back to Bilston more often!

Now, don’t forget, I post a new blog every day on www.pink-tutu.com! Don’t be shy – join the pink tutu movement! What are you waiting for? Grab a tutu (and maybe a splash of pink lipstick) and unleash your inner ballerina!

Love and glitter, Emma x
