Droitwich Dreams: A Tutu Takes on the Severn

#TutuBlog 8511

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind adventure in Droitwich, a charming little town nestled by the River Severn in Worcestershire. This past week was a symphony of sunshine, pastel hues, and yes, you guessed it, tutus! But first, a little travel story, as pink as the dawn...

After my Derbyshire mornings, steeped in dew and the promise of new beginnings, I boarded the train for my Droitwich adventure. I always find train journeys such an exciting part of any adventure, a moment to indulge in the delicious daydreams that unfurl in my imagination, while watching the landscape whizz by, like a montage in a film. I was resplendent, of course, in my custom-made tulle number – a delicate peach with a shimmer that mimicked the morning light catching the dew on the fields.

Droitwich: A Delight for the Senses

Arriving at Droitwich Spa, I felt an immediate warmth embrace me. It's one of those charming towns where everything feels a little gentler, like stepping into a picture postcard, but more vibrant.

My first port of call was a delightful cafe with pink roses cascading over its window, their perfume clinging to the air, like a whisper of magic. Over a perfectly frothed cappuccino and a dainty slice of Victoria sponge, I took in the bustle of the local market, all charming little stalls, bursting with homemade delights.

Ballet in Bloom

But this wasn't a mere jaunt, dear readers! My true mission was to bring the magic of ballet to this charming little corner of Worcestershire. And how do you do that? With a Pink Tutu Extravaganza of course!

The Droitwich Arts Centre welcomed me with open arms. Its walls were adorned with captivating murals, inspired by the nearby River Severn. It was the perfect backdrop for my very special ballet workshop.

With a troupe of eager students – a charming group of youngsters who giggled, and older ladies with twinkling eyes – I guided them through some basic steps. I believe, dear reader, in the power of ballet to unlock our inner grace, even if it means simply lifting our arms in a gentle, swan-like curve!

The highlight was, undoubtedly, when I unveiled my signature move: the "Tutu Twirl." A graceful spin in my shimmering pink, a reminder that every day can be a joyous celebration. We all took turns, feeling the wind catch the tulle and laughing as our movements became infused with both whimsy and joy.

Wildlife Wonders

No visit to the Severn is complete without a stroll by its banks. I was captivated by the sight of swans, their sleek white bodies gliding effortlessly over the water. Their grace reminded me of the way a dancer effortlessly blends with the music. They seemed to dance on the water's edge, their movements mirroring the gentle sway of the reeds. I simply had to capture the moment with my camera, a memento of this beautiful day.

Dinner with a View

Later, the town came alive with the glow of sunset. I dined al fresco in a charming courtyard restaurant, surrounded by cascading vines and twinkling lights. A delicious pasta dish, perfectly prepared, filled me with a deep contentment. I reflected on the day, grateful for this town that had embraced my passion.

As I gazed at the reflection of the full moon shimmering on the river, I thought, this, my dears, is the true spirit of adventure! A moment captured in time, the perfect symphony of joy, beauty, and, of course, a little bit of pink.

Until next time, darling readers, stay pink and twirl often!
