Solihull Calling! 🩰

Hello my beautiful ballet bunnies! 🐰💖 It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-loving, pirouette-obsessed, travel-bug blogger, and I'm so excited to share my adventures from Solihull with you all!

This is post number 8535, and I’m going to tell you all about the exciting day I had exploring this charming town. As always, it was a girly adventure, full of sunshine, pink tutus, and of course, a little bit of ballet. ✨

You might know I’m a big fan of getting around on public transport or, my personal favourite, a trusty horse. 🐴 However, this time I decided to make my journey by car, which was definitely more comfortable than hopping on a train with my giant tutu case! 😉 As I sped along, the countryside flew past in a blur of green, yellow, and blue, just like the swirls in a beautifully executed pirouette. Speaking of pirouettes, I had to slip on my sparkly pink tutu and give the passengers a mini performance in the car! 😅 They were so surprised, but thankfully, they took it in their stride, giggling at my little routine.

Once I reached Solihull, my first stop was a visit to the beautiful Solihull Arts Centre. I've always been captivated by the magic of the theatre, so I couldn’t wait to see what this venue had to offer. 🎭 The theatre itself was elegant and charming, with a delightful vintage charm. As I walked through the foyer, I couldn’t help but notice the many wonderful displays of art - a truly inspirational space for both aspiring artists and seasoned creatives alike. I even caught a glimpse of a ballet poster on the wall, advertising the Royal Ballet's performance of Swan Lake! Oh my, I’d love to have a little twirl in their stage! 💖

Of course, no visit to a new town is complete without some exploration, and Solihull had so much to offer. After leaving the arts centre, I embarked on a little shopping spree in the town centre, admiring the quaint boutiques and charming independent shops. I couldn't resist buying myself a beautiful silk scarf, featuring a delicate print of pink roses. The colour matched my tutu perfectly, which made it even better! 😉 It was almost as beautiful as the pink hydrangeas I saw blooming in the town's beautiful Victorian gardens, an absolute delight for my ballerina eyes! 🌸

And what’s a trip to a new town without some delightful treats? Well, my dear readers, I found myself at a wonderful little café called "The Pink Flamingo" – how could I resist a place with that name? 🦩 It was adorable! I sat in a plush velvet armchair by the window, enjoying a cup of chamomile tea (my favourite after a good dance session) and a delicious slice of raspberry cake, pink of course! I must confess, it was difficult to stay focused with such beautiful, pink cake, so my lovely notebook stayed untouched until the very last bite. 😅 But it was totally worth it! I definitely recommend it to any of you travelling to Solihull.

Now, here’s a secret, one that makes me extra excited to be in Solihull. This is where the world-renowned Birmingham Royal Ballet calls home, and as soon as I discovered that, I knew this town had to be on my “tutu travel list”. They put on some incredible shows, and seeing “The Nutcracker” there is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 😍 And I have my eyes set on getting tickets for the spring season! I might be travelling solo, but trust me, when I'm watching them dance, my tutu will definitely have a starring role in the audience. 😉

Speaking of “ballet street,” you guys will never guess what I spotted! While exploring Solihull, I stumbled upon a little hidden gem - a ballet school! I practically squealed with excitement – the chance to peek into a new ballet school and admire all those ballerinas is always thrilling! My heart practically skipped a beat when I heard a little melody flowing out through the windows - “ Swan Lake” in progress, and I just knew I had to step inside! I spent a good hour chatting with the charming instructors who taught there and sharing my stories. It’s amazing how our world is full of little treasures just waiting to be discovered, especially for ballet lovers like me.

Of course, I couldn't leave without some lovely, colourful photographs to share with you. You know I’m a massive fan of capturing those picture-perfect moments! So I’m wearing a new tutu, a vibrant lime green with golden sequins, which perfectly complimented the bluebell wildflowers I found growing in the fields near Solihull. My new pink scarf and a pair of sparkly white ballet shoes, and – ta-da! – I'm ready to face the camera. 📷 I just love sharing all these exciting moments with you guys and making you all a part of my exciting journeys.

So that was my delightful day in Solihull! I hope I've inspired you to explore new towns and embrace the magic of travel and ballet! You don't have to be a seasoned ballet dancer to enjoy the beauty of a performance, or the joy of a beautiful dance class.

And always remember: put on a tutu, grab your friends and join me on this fabulous journey of ballet, adventure and love, and we’ll travel the world together, one pirouette at a time. 💖
