Royal Tunbridge Wells: A Tutu-tastic Day Out! 🩰💕

Good morning, my lovely tutu-loving friends!

It's Emma here, writing to you from the picturesque town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The sun is shining, the birds are singing (although I do swear they were all trying to out-do each other with their trilling), and the air smells of freshly baked scones. A truly lovely start to the day, don't you think?

And, you know what makes it even better? I'm rocking my classic pink tutu, of course! It wouldn't be a day out without my favourite ballerina wear! I do love a good tulle poof, and I always feel extra confident and radiant in my pink tutus. Plus, they're just so much fun to twirl in! 💃

But enough about me, let's talk about the lovely Royal Tunbridge Wells. I've had my eye on visiting this gorgeous town for ages and finally, thanks to a lovely offer on the train tickets (and, of course, the opportunity to wear my tutu!) I got to explore. My journey there was magical - I took a scenic train ride, which is just one of my favourite ways to travel, with views of rolling green fields and quaint little villages dotted along the way. I had to make a few quick stops in quaint little villages along the way, because let's be honest, who could resist a photo op by a stunning hedgerow or a cute little duck pond?! Ducks, of course, are a particular favourite of mine, as are foxes and swans! Isn't it so wonderful how beautiful nature is? It's really something that just inspires my sense of wonder and fills me with joy. Just as joy that is so easy to evoke with the simplest of twirls. You really can't beat a good twirl. It's a simple, yet profoundly wonderful act!

Anyway, back to Royal Tunbridge Wells. I simply had to visit the Tunbridge Wells Pantiles. This paved walkway has such a romantic atmosphere and a beautiful selection of independent shops and restaurants! It's lined with these grand, historic buildings that just whisper tales of bygone eras, and it has this incredible energy to it. I love strolling along the Pantiles, watching the world go by. I imagine it’s exactly like a scene from a classic period drama! Honestly, the perfect spot to sip some afternoon tea and have a chat about ballet with my bestie, or to maybe even inspire a few others to wear a pink tutu with me.

You see, that's my little mission in life. It's my mission to get everyone in the world to put on a pink tutu! Well, I am still working on the global scale! I may be starting small but I truly believe that tutus should be embraced by all! I'm already halfway there: my pink-tutu family is growing all the time thanks to you amazing souls who read this blog and share your thoughts, photos, and tutus with me. It just makes my day!

This time I was able to meet up with a lovely group of fellow tutu-lovers for a bit of a dance-around in the Pantiles! There is just something truly magical about twirling under the watchful gaze of the stately architecture of the town - it felt like a beautiful blend of the classic and the whimsical. And you know what? We got a few curious glances and smiles, which really just reminded me why I do what I do! We’re here to spread joy and inspire.

But my trip wasn’t just about strutting my stuff! We spent the evening at the wonderful Tunbridge Wells Theatre enjoying a captivating ballet performance. The dancers were just sublime – their grace and skill just had me glued to my seat in awe! They took the stories to life through their incredible movements. It truly felt like we were on an adventure alongside the characters!

That got me thinking, about all the ways I love ballet. I've been a ballerina from a very young age, and I have been absolutely obsessed since! I’ve danced in theatre productions, but I love my ballet street gigs just as much! That’s one thing about ballet, it’s truly for everyone, and that’s why I am so passionate about promoting it. There’s something about those graceful movements, the musicality of it, and that feeling of effortless movement - it just brings me pure joy.

One day, maybe I’ll start ballet lessons in Tunbridge Wells - I mean, this is the ideal location for it! I can imagine the lovely views, the classic atmosphere and the twinkle of my tutu as I dance. I'd love to have a dedicated group to teach and to spread that ballet love! And perhaps even inspire a few pink-tutu-wearing converts!

Of course, Royal Tunbridge Wells isn’t just a lovely town for dancing - it has so much to offer, I could talk for ages! If you find yourself looking for a day trip full of charm and elegance with a lovely little touch of whimsical, you definitely have to add this gorgeous gem to your list!

For now, though, I’ll leave you with a bit of my favourite inspiration:

“Dance as though no one is watching you. Love as though you've never been hurt. Sing as though no one can hear you. Live as though heaven is on Earth.”

Sending all my love and ballet vibes your way. Keep your tutus handy, and never be afraid to twirl, my loves!

Emma 🩰💕
