Crosby Calling! 🩰🌸

#TutuBlog Post #8646

Hello, my darlings! It’s Emma here, bringing you another dose of pink-hued positivity straight from the heart of… drumroll… Crosby! Yes, my lovely lot, this weekend I swapped the Peak District for the Mersey coast for a weekend of ballet bliss and seaside shenanigans!

As you all know, I live for a bit of travelling, and hopping on the train is my preferred mode of transport. Something about the rhythm of the rails and the view flashing past just gets me feeling inspired and ready for adventure. So, I packed my suitcase (of course with a few carefully selected tutus - I can’t travel without them!), donned my favourite pink sunhat (the one with the little bow!) and headed off on a whirlwind tour of the Northwest.

My mission? To immerse myself in the local ballet scene and discover what Crosby has to offer! Now, Crosby is a place steeped in history and charm, so it was like stepping into a vintage fairytale. Imagine, cobblestone streets, quaint tea rooms and houses bursting with vibrant geraniums - pure poetry! I could almost picture little ballerinas dancing amongst the rose bushes… oh, the dream!

First stop: Crosby Coastal Park, a real haven for nature lovers like myself. We found the famous iron men (which actually gave me a fright initially, they’re so big and mysterious!) They reminded me of something straight out of a fantastical story… and let’s be honest, ballet is all about the magic and wonder, right? We spent the afternoon watching the tide ebb and flow, the gentle seagulls swirling above and the beautiful beach combing – my little dog Pip, a fluffy Yorkshire terrier who always joins me on adventures, absolutely adored the fresh air! He was the real highlight of the afternoon with his joyful antics running about, a picture of perfect canine joy.

The best thing about travelling is trying out all the new food and discovering local gems. I stumbled upon the most delightful café, 'The Pink Flamingo', right next to the coast. Naturally, it was painted a beautiful shade of pink, and inside, it was a ballet lover's dream, filled with vintage ballet posters and photographs! The cherry-topped cheesecake was heavenly - totally my weakness! I can’t leave anywhere without a little slice of something sugary.

My heart was pounding with excitement when the evening rolled around. This was the real reason I’d travelled to Crosby: to see 'Swan Lake' at the beautiful Crosby Theatre! Oh, it was breathtaking. From the opening scene with the shimmering lake, I was transported into a world of swans and magical creatures. It reminded me that ballet truly has the power to move you and make you feel all kinds of emotions. Watching those beautiful dancers grace the stage in their white tutus filled me with such an indescribable sense of joy and inspiration. It’s that feeling that gets me wanting to put on my own tutu and swirl around, embracing my inner swan!

Speaking of which… this week, I’m going to challenge all of you lovely TutuBlog readers to wear your own pink tutu, even just for a day. Even if you've never even thought of dancing in your life. What have you got to lose? It’s about breaking free, having a little fun, and letting your inner ballerina fly! Trust me, it’ll brighten up your day and leave you with a smile like a rosy pink dawn.

As the sun set, painting the sky in shades of apricot and pink, I bid farewell to Crosby. The town held a special magic in its heart. But don't you worry, my lovely readers! My adventures don’t stop here! Keep checking back for more travel tales, tutu adventures and all the pink inspiration you can handle!

Sending love, sparkles and endless pinkness your way,

Emma x
