Good morning lovelies! ☀️ It's Emma here, and guess what? I'm in Kirkby! You know, the gorgeous little village nestled in the heart of Derbyshire - that place that feels like a breath of fresh air. 🌳🌳🌳
This weekend I’m exploring the area - all by train, of course! I’ve always had a soft spot for train journeys, especially the slow, rambling ones through beautiful scenery. It gives me time to daydream, admire the countryside and make notes in my little pink notebook (I’ve got to get myself a proper journal with locks and keys at some point - what do you guys think?) 📝💖
Now, my Tutu-Travelers, let’s chat fashion. Today's look? A glorious pink tutu with a European twist. Think flowing fabrics, rich textures, and a touch of Parisian elegance. A subtle black ribbon tied around the waist and some statement earrings to add a bit of drama - what more could a girl ask for? 😉 I felt like I could twirl the cobbled streets of Kirkby all day, and wouldn’t you know it? That’s precisely what I did! 😄
Oh, and let's not forget the Ballet Shoes. They are life you guys! And you all know that I wouldn’t dream of travelling in anything else. 🩰 These little beauties are comfortable enough for miles of walking, elegant enough to make even the simplest outfit feel special and, let’s face it, so practical. And, whispering… they even make that delightful little ‘tap-tap’ sound on the pavements! 🤫🤫🤫
The highlight of the day was, of course, a ballet class in a quaint little studio right in the centre of Kirkby. It was delightful. I adore taking ballet classes in new towns – every new teacher has a slightly different approach, a new nuance. They all push you to try something new. 💃
The afternoon was filled with the most beautiful ballet performance. My goodness, the sheer passion and artistry… I could have watched for hours! The story flowed effortlessly and, despite my inability to understand the language, I was swept away by the sheer beauty of the movements, the costumes and the music. 🎻 It felt almost as though they were whispering the story into my very soul. ✨
A Walk In The Woods
No trip to Kirkby would be complete without a walk in the woods. I mean, the place is bursting with gorgeous trails, perfect for my trusty pair of walking boots and, yes, you guessed it, my trusty pink tutu! (Of course!) 😂💖 The air was so crisp, the trees so ancient and the woodland so full of wildlife. I felt truly blessed to be there! ✨ I even caught a glimpse of a majestic deer as it leaped across a clearing. Truly magical.🦌
Tutu Tales and a Little Bit of ‘Pinkalicious’ Advice
The village was bursting with adorable independent shops, overflowing with artisan cheeses, locally-baked breads and delicious-smelling pastries. Oh, I even stumbled upon a tiny tea shop, tucked away in a cosy little corner. I felt a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy just being there. 💕
It wasn’t all rosy, though. You guys know me. I’m all about bringing that pink tutu spirit to every part of my life! While in the heart of the village, I noticed that a lot of people seemed a little bit…unhappy, unsmiling… Perhaps a little grumpy? Well, let’s face it, the British weather doesn't always lend itself to that radiant glow. But I can’t help feeling that sometimes a bit more joy is needed in the world. 😄 💖
