Kingswood Calling: German Bodices and Galloping Dreams 🩰💖

Hey lovelies!

Sunshine, sweeping fields, and a dash of German elegance – that’s what my weekend in Kingswood was all about! Honestly, sometimes it feels like my life is one giant, pink-tutu-clad whirl of excitement, and this past weekend was no exception!

Now, you know I'm a Derbyshire girl at heart, but there's something about hopping on a train and discovering new corners of the world that just gets me going. This time, it was a whistle-stop trip to the beautiful village of Kingswood, a little haven nestled right on the edge of the Peak District.

But before I dive into the enchanting scenery and my tutu-worthy adventures, let's talk about my travel ensemble – because it just wouldn't be a TutuBlog post without a little fashion finesse, right? 😉

I’m not gonna lie, the weather wasn’t the most balmy, but that didn’t stop me from rocking my absolute favourite pink knit. A delicate, cable-knit cardigan in the most vibrant shade of pink, teamed with a flowy cream skirt that whispered with every gentle breeze. Oh, and of course, the star of the show - a dazzling, shimmering tutu, carefully crafted with delicate layers of tulle that made me feel like a princess striding into a fairytale. But there was a little extra something this time... a German bodice!

I’m obsessed with German fashion at the moment – all those intricate details, rich textures, and romantic flourishes just speak to my soul. This bodice was a work of art, featuring exquisite lace embroidery, a fitted silhouette, and a touch of shimmering satin. It truly brought a touch of sophistication to my outfit, while still letting my inner ballerina shine!

I know, I know - some people might say, "Emma, isn't a tutu a little OTT for a trip to Kingswood?" But you see, I believe in celebrating life in all its glory, and that includes making every moment feel magical.

Arriving in Kingswood felt like stepping back in time, with quaint cobblestone streets and traditional half-timbered houses adorned with blooming roses. It’s like they plucked straight from a Beatrix Potter book, only with more pastel-coloured doors and friendly smiles.

But the real highlight was the wildlife! Oh, how I adore creatures, especially the feathered kind. Kingswood is a haven for birds – think vibrant robins flitting through lush hedges, shy pheasants strutting along the path, and mischievous sparrows chirping from every windowsill.

As I wandered through the village, my camera clicking furiously, a delightful thought took flight – imagine all those adorable birds decked out in tiny pink tutus! Maybe one day, I’ll be able to get them to join in with the #PinkTutuChallenge! (Wishful thinking, perhaps, but a girl can dream, can’t she?)

Of course, no trip to the countryside is complete without a horseback riding adventure. Now, I'm not just talking about a gentle trot around a field. I'm talking about a real galloping escapade! Picture this: wind in my hair, sunshine warming my face, and my tutu billowing behind me as I soared across the lush green hills. The feeling of freedom was pure exhilaration – a ballet dancer’s dream come true, wouldn't you say?

And after all that fresh air and horse-powered fun, nothing beats settling down with a hot cup of tea and a good book, tucked away in a cozy cottage, surrounded by charming countryside scenes.

But before I sign off, let's rewind to a very special moment from the weekend. A tiny ballet studio, tucked away down a narrow street, with a hand-painted sign proclaiming: "The Dancing Fairies." This charming little studio was offering beginner’s classes, and let me tell you – the urge to join in was almost overwhelming. My heart soared with every tinkle of the piano and flutter of tulle as the tiny ballerinas practiced their plies and pirouettes.

You see, dear TutuLovers, this is what it's all about. Sharing the joy of movement, spreading the message that every heart deserves a moment of pure grace, and reminding everyone that there's a little ballerina within each and every one of us.

So, my friends, if you’re feeling a little lost or simply yearning for a touch of sparkle in your life, grab a pink tutu, pack a bag, and go exploring! The world is full of beautiful places just waiting to be discovered – and you never know what kind of whimsical adventures await.

Stay sparkly,

Emma 💖
