Cleethorpes: Where Red Rules! 👠💃 (Blog Post #8688)

Hello darlings! Emma here, back with another juicy post from your favourite pink-tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed blogger! Today's adventure? Cleethorpes, darling, Cleethorpes! It’s just a short train ride from Derbyshire, so perfect for a quick escape from the ordinary. As I say in my bio, a good horse or a good train journey is the way to travel. 🐎💨

This time, I decided to turn things up a notch – ditch the classic pink and opted for a fiery red tutu. Yes, you read that right! I'm not always about that pale pink life. Sometimes, I need a bit of red fire to ignite the soul, ya know? 🔥 And oh my goodness, let me tell you, the locals absolutely adored it. Everyone I met seemed thrilled to see my flamboyant, sassy self in the streets. It felt like everyone I passed knew that this was no ordinary visit to Cleethorpes!

Let’s start with the journey. The train ride was delightful. Honestly, travelling by train in England is like taking a step back in time, in the best way possible. You've got the comfy plush seats, the soothing rhythm of the train tracks, and of course, the friendly faces around you. This time I even got a little "Ooh la la!" and a "Smashing!" from a charming couple who clearly knew the meaning of a good dance and a good outfit. I really do love how easy and fun it is to chat with people, you really feel a connection when you’re on the train together!

Speaking of charming, Cleethorpes itself is a proper gem, I must say! The pier is magnificent, a symphony of Victorian-era design and fresh seaside air. It's not hard to see why the place is known for its picturesque beauty. Imagine: the sun glinting on the waves, the wind teasing the ribbons on my red tutu (a touch dramatic, yes, but it is the perfect accessory, darlings!), and the air alive with the joyous sounds of children and families enjoying the day. It's all just so, so quintessentially English. 🥰

But this is more than just a pretty place. Cleethorpes truly holds something magical, something that brings out the inner child in all of us! This time around, my heart belonged to the charmingly chaotic world of Cleethorpes Aquarium! 🐠 🐙 They've got every species imaginable from playful otters to grumpy sharks! It was simply thrilling to get up close and personal with the creatures of the deep. Who knew these scaly, fin-flapping friends could be so enchanting?

Naturally, I embraced my inner graceful ballerina (a true ballerina always keeps her moves fluid and stylish) for some spontaneous pirouettes beside the tanks. Let me tell you, it wasn’t long before a little group of kids were enthralled! I saw so many little girls giggling as I spun with all my ballerina strength and style. They were clearly inspired, and even attempted some moves themselves, their giggles bouncing off the tanks! It was magical! I can only imagine what incredible dreams those beautiful young ladies will pursue now! Maybe I’ve created the next Prima Ballerina of Cleethorpes, only time will tell!

I couldn’t leave Cleethorpes without some truly delicious fish and chips, could I? It wouldn’t be a true Cleethorpes experience without a taste of the most British meal possible. After a bit of pirouette-style exploration (because, you know, every journey demands grace) I found the most wonderful little restaurant. The owner was a delightful woman, clearly passionate about her work, and she went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I honestly think she could’ve listened to me talk about all things tutu for hours and hours and she never once got bored!

There’s nothing like a bit of hearty British food, particularly in the vibrant, bubbly atmosphere of this little restaurant. You could almost feel the good vibes! The laughter of the people, the clinking of forks, the excited cries of children as their plates arrived – it’s a wonderful way to appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

As the sun began to set on this incredible adventure, I made sure to visit the stunning Cleethorpes Lighthouse! 🔦 You can feel its powerful history radiating from every brick, whispering tales of seafaring legends. A quick twirl in front of this beautiful monument and it was back onto the train for a swift journey back to Derbyshire.

You know what I love? How different days can be, how different places can feel. Today, it was red, tomorrow it might be lavender! Every journey is a fresh experience, a chance to share a bit of pink-tutu-tastic magic with the world. I have to admit, Cleethorpes really knows how to create memories that will last a lifetime, especially with the right kind of tutu and a lot of fun!

Until next time, darlings!

And don’t forget, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know it’s a mission of mine that everyone needs to give ballet a go and that every single person deserves to experience the joys of a good, pink, fluffy tutu. What could be better than dancing on the edge of happiness? (and no, not all tutus are pink, darling, just the ones I have! 😉 )

Much love,

Emma xxx
