Llanelli: A Tutu-tastic Adventure!

#TutuBlog 8702

Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm just bursting with excitement to tell you about my fabulous trip to Llanelli. It was an adventure, darling, an absolute adventure!

This week I decided to swap my trusty ballet shoes for a pair of riding boots and hopped aboard a beautiful steam train for a day trip to the charming seaside town of Llanelli, a place I’ve wanted to visit ever since I saw the gorgeous beaches on Google Maps! And let me tell you, the views were simply stunning! The green fields rolling down to the ocean, the air full of the salty tang of the sea – it was positively magical!

I do love travelling by train. It allows me to admire the countryside, and let’s be honest, there’s something undeniably chic about pulling out a well-worn copy of Pride and Prejudice, watching the landscape fly by as I sip on a pot of Earl Grey tea, right?

Once in Llanelli, my plan, as always, was to blend my love of ballet with exploring the town. Firstly, I headed for the charming Llanelli library, the building itself a charming vision with elegant columns and bay windows. The books were my companions while I caught up with some admin for the blog (and, naturally, took some adorable pics for the Gram!), followed by a yummy lunch in the delightful cafe next door. A slice of their Victoria sponge with lashings of clotted cream (and a sprinkle of pink glitter, because a girl needs sparkle!) was just what I needed to fuel my adventures.

From Llanelli Library to The Grand: A Ballet Blitz!

It was a quick trip from the library to The Grand Theatre, a building of immense beauty that brought to mind the grand ballrooms I used to dream about as a child. Oh, how I yearned to be twirling across those sparkling dance floors in my favourite tutu, just like those legendary ballerinas I used to see in photos, dreaming of dancing beneath those grand chandeliers! I actually couldn't resist popping in and admiring the theatre's grandeur from the entrance hall, dreaming of a tutu-clad stage, and catching a glimpse of their exciting programme.

This is my advice, darlings. Wherever you go, don't be shy about taking a moment to look up, appreciate the beauty that surrounds you, and just dream big. And, as a girl from Derbyshire, it’s important to note that, it’s a little reminder that the spirit of ballet and its elegance shines even in the smallest town. And trust me, that's a truly lovely thought, isn’t it?

But it wouldn't be a tutu-tastic trip without some ballet! I discovered, with a little digging, a ballet class in a lovely little hall tucked away on a cobbled side street in Llanelli. It was called 'The Graceful Swan' - a perfect name for a ballet studio! As I glided through the streets of the town, a little twinkle in my eye and a pep in my step, I couldn't help but twirl a bit and think about how the beauty of ballet really could bring people together!

Pink Tutus & Beach-side Glamour: The Llanelli Dance-Off!

Later, I was treated to a special performance – a flashmob, in the heart of the town. And what was the theme of the dance? You guessed it - PINK TUTUS! They were all so glamorous, darling. It made me want to join right in, even though I’d left my tutu back at the hotel! There was this feeling of laughter, excitement, and sheer joy that made the whole experience truly magical. It felt like the world was filled with sunshine and sparkles!

But I wouldn’t leave without an afternoon at the beach. It's just a quick walk from town. It’s really the perfect place for a bit of peace and reflection. It felt just right to finish my day with a relaxing walk on the shoreline.

I love how the wild sea always gives me a sense of peace. The sound of the crashing waves, the smell of the sea, and the vibrant colours of the sky are a magical symphony for the soul, don't you agree?

Walking along the sandy shores, I did have a bit of a chuckle to myself, you know. My vision? A tutu-clad seaside! I can see it now: elegant ladies dancing by the seaside, the sun on their skin, and the waves crashing around them. And of course, they'd all be wearing the perfect shade of pink tutus. You know it! That’s what dreams are made of. The whole day had left me buzzing.

My adventures in Llanelli had a little something for every ballerina at heart – culture, ballet, beautiful nature. And you know what else? It gave me so much inspiration. You know that passion for bringing ballet to everyone? Well, it’s just burning brighter than ever! The whole day reminded me how magical this world of ballet and dance can be, how it can make even the smallest of towns feel alive, vibrant, and ready to embrace the twirling magic.

So, darlings, my tip? Get your pink tutu on! Visit Llanelli, immerse yourself in its charm. You never know what adventure might await you!

Until next time,

Emma.
