Borehamwood Bound: A Tutu Tale of Travel and Twirls
#TutuBlog 8708
Hello my darling darlings, itās Emma here, your tutu-loving travel companion and resident ballerina. Today, weāre hopping on a train (always a favourite mode of transport of mine) to head to Borehamwood. As much as I love a good city adventure, thereās something wonderfully nostalgic and calming about hopping on a train with a book in hand (or in my case, a pair of pointe shoes in my bag!). I mean, how delightful is it to watch the countryside fly by while planning out the day's tutu-wearing shenanigans?
My latest mission in life (after world tutu domination, of course) is to convince everyone to try a ballet class. Because really, why not?! Thereās something magical about taking on that first pirouette and feeling the strength of your muscles as you take your first grand jetĆ©. Donāt be shy, embrace the magic and give it a go. Remember, itās not about being perfect ā itās about embracing your inner graceful swan (even if that swan sometimes bumps into things, like me!).
And, of course, I had to dress for the occasion. Whatās a trip to a town known for its connection to performing arts, especially ballet, without a fabulous tutu, right? This time, I decided to channel my inner fairy with a vibrant purple number that, honestly, might be just a tiny bit over the top. But when it comes to tutus, I truly believe āmore is moreā is the best motto!
Speaking of "more is more", we've got some fabulous news coming your way! Our wonderful local theatre is hosting a weekend of ballet classes. Yep, that's right, folks! You can join us and experience the magic of ballet for yourself. And who knows, maybe weāll even convince them to throw in some tutus! It'll be a delightful chance to stretch our limbs, try some new moves, and dance with fellow ballet enthusiasts (even if they're just starting out). It's an excellent opportunity to explore different forms of dance, too, from ballet to contemporary and tap ā we'll have something for everyone. Itās all happening at the local arts centre and I'm so excited for a weekend of twirling, jumping, and getting a bit, well, rosy-cheeked from the exertion. Details will be in tomorrowās blog!
However, before we get swept away with the wonders of dance, letās back up for a moment. What made Borehamwood, you might ask? Well, the beautiful thing about travel is discovering the unexpected. Today's destination was all about the wild, wild life, as they say. Yes, thatās right, wildlife. Now, my dear readers know how much I love animals. Thereās something incredibly soothing about being surrounded by natureās finest. Think delicate birds flitting through the trees, charming squirrels gathering nuts, or deer peeking out from the undergrowth, and, well, my heart skips a beat. Itās natureās ballet, donāt you think?
Borehamwood has a fantastic park teeming with nature. It was pure bliss walking among the trees, listening to the birds chirping and feeling the sun on my face. My favorite thing? Spotting a family of deer gracefully bounding across a grassy clearing. Oh, it was a delightful encounter, made even better by my sparkly pink tutu! Iāve always been quite drawn to wildlife and believe, deep down, that we all have a little wild side in us. Maybe itās time to tap into that wild spirit and explore the beauty of the great outdoors, tutu and all, my darlings.
Speaking of beautiful, letās not forget our essential āpink touch.ā A day wouldnāt be complete without it, right? Well, this day certainly wasnāt! I found the sweetest pink-themed tea shop in town, and boy, oh boy, it was a delightful experience. Everything, from the dainty teacups to the charming pastries, was painted in shades of rose and blush, even the scones had a pink tinge! A beautiful start to a perfect afternoon. And let me tell you, the rose-infused Earl Grey tea with a sprinkle of pink sugar was divine.
Now, my dear readers, I canāt reveal everything about this adventure. But youāve gotta stay tuned, right? Iām going to tell you everything about the lovely town of Borehamwood in the next blog. We'll explore everything from its history to its delicious food scene. Of course, weāll also get a peek into the wonderful theatre and hopefully find some fabulous dance opportunities to share with you.
Until next time, keep shining and twirling!
Your darling friend,
Emma x
