Emma here, back with you from the picturesque county of Worcestershire, specifically the charming town of Bromsgrove! My travels never cease to inspire, and today’s adventure was no exception. You know how much I adore a good train journey – something about the rhythmic chugging and the passing countryside scenery always gets my creative juices flowing. Plus, it's the perfect opportunity to admire my fabulous, pink tutu in the window seat. 🤫
This time, my journey led me to Bromsgrove, a town teeming with history, lovely parks, and a beautiful little theatre. This place truly embraced its quirky side, with vibrant murals adorning the walls and friendly faces everywhere you look. It's definitely not your average town, but in a good way! And just for you lovely lot, I donned my most extravagant pink tutu. After all, a little sparkle goes a long way in a place this charming.
My day started with a delightful stroll through Bromsgrove’s iconic High Street, where the quaint shops offered up delightful trinkets and unique treasures. You see, my motto is "live, laugh, love, and never say no to a pretty teacup" – so you can imagine my delight at discovering an independent tea shop, nestled in amongst the historic buildings. It was a quintessential British experience with warm scones, delicate finger sandwiches, and a generous teapot of the finest Darjeeling tea. Pure heaven!
However, it wouldn't be an Emma-approved trip without some ballet! Turns out, Bromsgrove has a flourishing local ballet school – a hidden gem in the heart of the town. It’s nestled in a lovely Victorian building, just begging for a modern twist. Of course, I couldn't resist popping in for a peek – they were having an open class, so I had to say hello and, well, maybe sneak a few dance moves in too. I’ve always loved teaching and inspiring the younger generation, especially when it comes to ballet! And it was so inspiring to watch the local children leap and twirl, their energy bursting at the seams!
As afternoon settled, the main drawcard for my Bromsgrove escapade came to the fore - the Artrix Theatre. Oh my goodness, what a gem this was! The architecture was stunning – elegant and timeless – and I simply had to have a photo in front of the beautiful facade. After all, my Instagram game is as vital to my work as the pink tutu itself, haha! 😜
The Artrix was hosting a captivating contemporary dance production – a collaboration between local talents and rising stars from the Royal Ballet School. They took their inspiration from the vibrant murals gracing Bromsgrove’s walls and created an innovative and breathtaking performance, blurring the lines between dance and street art. It truly captured the heart and soul of this remarkable town, and I was left mesmerized. Let's be honest – there is just something about watching a professional ballet that can make even the most jaded heart melt.
After the show, I ventured outside to take a moment and just let the beauty of it all sink in. Bromsgrove’s twinkling lights bathed the town in a magical glow – a real reminder of how wonderful the world can be. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of overwhelming gratitude for this fantastic day.
Then, naturally, my day couldn't end without a final adventure. I spotted a quaint horse-drawn carriage waiting outside the theatre – you just know I couldn't resist taking a trip through the night, soaking up the charm of Bromsgrove from a different perspective. With a soft jingle of the harness and the gentle clop-clop of hooves on cobblestones, we set off for a magical evening ride. This town simply has it all! It was a truly enchanting way to close the day.
