Aberdeen Adventures: Pink Tutus and Scottish Wildlife! 🩰

Hey my lovelies,

Welcome back to Pink Tutu - I’m so delighted you're here for another instalment of my daily musings on all things pink and twirly. Today we’re diving into a thrilling journey, post #8795, filled with Scottish adventures, breathtaking views, and – of course – the most fabulous tutu I’ve ever worn!

Let's be honest, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu post without a dash of dramatic flair. So picture this: me, Emma, in a brand new, dazzling, Italian tulle creation - it's baby pink, naturally, with shimmering sequins and a luxurious satin waistband, made especially for me. Oh, it’s divine. Just the kind of sartorial choice you'd expect for an afternoon exploring the charming cobbled streets of Aberdeen!

This trip was a complete whirlwind! I was absolutely smitten with Aberdeen the moment I arrived. The beautiful architecture, the granite buildings glinting under the Scottish sunshine… it all just felt so "Emma". I'm so glad I decided to get out of my Derbyshire comfort zone and experience a taste of the Scottish life. The aroma of salt in the air, the distant cries of gulls… I truly fell in love with this city. And wouldn’t you know it, I stumbled upon the most enchanting shop full of local treasures.

You're probably wondering how I got to Aberdeen, right? It's been a while since I boarded a train - well, actually I rode on the most incredible train. A crimson vintage beauty, that was all gleaming brass and wood paneling - like stepping into a classic film. The train chugged across the moors, past rolling hills, and it just filled me with pure joy. I felt like a glamorous Victorian on an epic adventure! And of course, my trusty pink tutu travelled alongside me in a little hand-stitched velvet bag (very fitting, wouldn't you agree?).

Speaking of adventure, how about this? I discovered a local wildlife reserve where the most graceful white swans were waddling about! It's no secret that I adore all animals, but swans are definitely amongst my favourites. Watching them gliding effortlessly on the shimmering water, their white feathers sparkling in the sunshine, truly made my heart sing! It was a sight straight out of a ballet. I immediately thought of the beautiful white swan costumes they wear in the Nutcracker, which has always been a favourite. I took a few snaps to inspire some ballet-inspired art and fashion shoots - perhaps I'll make them into a future blog post? What do you think?

But back to Aberdeen... As you can tell, I was living my best life in my pink tutu, feeling every bit the whimsical ballerina as I strolled along the harbour. And honestly, the people in Aberdeen are so welcoming and friendly. Every glance was met with a smile. And speaking of smiles… guess who went to see the Scottish Ballet during my visit? Yup, me! It was incredible! The energy and passion from the dancers were just infectious. They were soaring through the air with incredible grace and athleticism - It reminded me how much I miss being on stage. Perhaps it's time to try a performance in this beautiful Scottish city? It certainly made my toes tingle!

Oh! Speaking of ballet... you all know how much I champion ballet, and I just have to say, ballet in Aberdeen is extra special. It has such a rich and vibrant culture, and there were so many wonderful studios and opportunities to learn. While I was there, I joined in with a local class, where I met the sweetest, most welcoming dancers - who knew ballet classes in Aberdeen had such fabulous pink and sparkly attire, like myself! They even invited me for a coffee afterwards - such a lovely bunch! It made me remember just why I'm so passionate about bringing ballet to everyone. It's such a positive, empowering experience that has made such a positive difference in my own life. And, if my lovely readers decide to give it a go, they know I’ll be right here cheering them on!

Now, to top off a truly magnificent trip, the local bakery treated me to the most delicious, flaky pastries - filled with raspberry and apricot and dusted with icing sugar - pure perfection! It was truly the most satisfying way to finish a wonderful, inspiring, and, dare I say, pink-tastic journey!

This city has a certain magic to it - I am completely captivated by this gem on the coast! It’s left me feeling so incredibly inspired to explore more, embrace life, and just be…well…ME! A happy, twirling, and definitely pink ballerina.

So there you have it, my dear readers. Aberdeen has absolutely stolen a piece of my heart and I will absolutely be back! Until then, let’s keep spreading that pink tutu joy! Don't forget, you can join me on Pink-Tutu.com daily for more fashion inspiration, ballet musings, and travel adventures - you never know what fabulous discovery I might stumble upon next!

See you soon! xx Emma
