Ilford: Tutu-licious Travels, Post #8800

Hey lovelies! 👋

It's Emma here, back from a fab weekend adventure, and let me tell you, it was all about pink tutus, train journeys, and a whole lot of twirling! I know you all love to hear about my travels, so settle in with your cuppa and let me whisk you away to… Ilford!

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Ilford? Seriously?" But hear me out, lovelies! I always say, the most wonderful experiences are often found in the most unexpected places, and this trip was definitely no exception.

This past weekend, I decided to embrace my inner-country girl and took a glorious train ride down from my lovely Derbyshire home to the heart of Essex. As soon as the train started rolling, I whipped out my phone and got my twirling game strong! It’s amazing how much fun you can have in a carriage, even if the only view is the occasional cow in a field (that happened too!). 🐮

I have to admit, my pink tutu was a definite head-turner. The other passengers just loved it. It wasn't just me wearing pink tutus on the journey either – there were loads of kids in their little tutus, too! Apparently, tutus are all the rage, and the future is looking fabulous, my dears! 💕

When I got to Ilford, the first thing I did was visit the Valentine’s Mansion and Gardens, because obviously, it has the most gorgeous name! This historical beauty was absolutely magical! There was even a little cafe in the garden with the cutest, most pink teacups ever! And guess what? The grounds are just brimming with wildlife! I had the most beautiful walk and saw a gaggle of geese (did you know that's what a group of geese is called?), some majestic swans, and even a couple of cute little squirrels. It’s amazing how you can feel so close to nature right in the heart of a town!

But the real highlight of my Ilford escapade had to be the Ilford Playhouse. I was lucky enough to catch a performance of a local dance troupe who were presenting a brilliant interpretation of “Giselle.” It was stunningly beautiful, with some incredibly talented dancers. There was so much passion, joy, and energy in every single move. I’m telling you, it was simply spellbinding! The applause at the end was just electric! You could feel the sheer happiness of everyone who'd just witnessed such beautiful art. And speaking of happiness, there’s no better way to lift your mood than watching beautiful ballet.

The day was wrapped up with a fabulously pink dinner at a restaurant near the Ilford Station. Honestly, this place was pink heaven! From the floral tablecloth to the pale pink pasta on the menu, the whole place oozed sophistication and a hint of magic. Even the waiter had a pink bow tie! The food was amazing, too. If you're ever in Ilford, be sure to check out this little gem! It truly makes you feel like you’re living in a dream.

My time in Ilford may have been short, but it was packed with delightful moments that had my heart fluttering. The pink tutus, the train journey, the beautiful swans and squirrels, the vibrant playhouse, the adorable teacups – and did I mention the pink pasta?! Honestly, I don’t know how this weekend could have been any more fabulous!

Remember lovelies, a little adventure is good for the soul. So grab your favorite pink tutu, your courage, and get out there and explore the world. You never know what magic might be waiting just around the corner! 💖

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little peek into my Ilford adventure. I'd love to hear all about your latest travels, and maybe even share a pink tutu moment with you.

Don't forget to keep twirling!

Love,

Emma x
