Ealing Adventures in Tutu, Blog Post #8841

Hello darlings! Emma here, and oh my goodness, today was just divine! You see, I’ve always been a huge fan of those wonderful train journeys, the sort where the landscape flashes by and you're completely immersed in your own little world, possibly indulging in a little light reading or people watching.

But today's trip to Ealing was on another level! It felt like a proper adventure, all thanks to the delightful surprise waiting for me at the end of my journey.

First things first: this pink tutu. It’s all kinds of wonderful. This little beauty landed in my mail yesterday, sent from a kind soul who knew my passion for all things pink and fluffy.

I knew instantly that Ealing needed a touch of this vibrant colour. After all, I’m on a mission to share the joy of pink and the sheer delight of wearing a tutu – for everyone! Imagine, if you will, a world awash in a sea of pink tutus, all swirling and twirling in harmonious motion. Sounds pretty fabulous, right?

My day began with the gentle click-clack of the train wheels on the tracks. I love how you can almost feel the rhythm of the journey. I'd packed a book, “The Art of Ballet” of course (gotta keep up my ballet knowledge!), a small tin of Pink Lemonade, a handmade lavender sachet for a little aroma therapy, and - yes you guessed it - a change of outfit! My trusty ballet bag always has an emergency tutu stashed within – just in case of any impromptu twirls! It's like a secret weapon against mundane days.

Arriving in Ealing, the day had that beautiful autumnal feel about it – the kind that reminds me of a warm apple crumble. It was almost as if the world was telling me to embrace the coziness, which of course meant finding a lovely little tea room and enjoying a perfectly brewed cup of Earl Grey, all the while surrounded by the scents of cinnamon and cloves, the perfect comforting aroma for a crisp Autumn day.

My day, however, was not merely about a cozy tea break! Ealing held a delightful secret - a beautiful ballet school. Now, you see, I’m a true devotee to all things ballet, be it classic performances or innovative ballet street – whatever makes that passion for movement flow! But it’s also about exploring different styles, and let me tell you, the Ealing school truly felt like a place to connect with that magical spirit. I’m not talking about stiff poses, here – I'm talking about genuine freedom of expression!

Feeling a little adventurous and embracing that tutu-filled spirit, I decided to have a quick class. And let me tell you, it was like opening up a whole new world. Even in my usual daily dose of ballet, there’s always a bit of ‘aha! I get it’ in every class – new combinations, exploring movement. And today was no different.

One particular piece of choreography sparked something. The teacher showed us a variation using an unconventional ballet step - a series of rippling moves along the floor that I found so freeing and invigorating. It was a complete departure from what I usually dance, and that's what I loved about it. It showed me that ballet can be so much more than I thought!

Afterwards, I went on a little walk to explore Ealing. I know, I know, you’d be thinking 'tut-tut' , a girl should really be dancing in Ealing… but this particular afternoon was calling for some quiet reflection! I’ve noticed the most interesting details can only be spotted on those gentle ambles. There’s something about just strolling about with my thoughts and admiring nature that helps clear my mind, especially when it’s coupled with a nice pink tutu of course.

I ended up by a small park with the most beautiful oak tree I'd ever seen – massive branches and a crown that looked as though it reached right to the clouds. And yes, you’ve guessed it, I had a little twirl under its watchful eyes. What else would a girl do in a pink tutu under an oak tree?

All in all, it was a day filled with the simple things: trains, tutus, a good cuppa, beautiful music and nature's grandeur – all things that always bring a smile to my face. My heart is still floating from the magical ballet class in Ealing - it truly put a skip in my step. If I'm being completely honest, the day was more than just delightful, it was magical. And that my dear reader is what we all need, a bit of magic in our lives.

Now, you might be wondering ‘why Ealing?’ Well, it's simply this: there’s this beautiful belief that the universe sends opportunities into our paths – and today's adventure in Ealing was precisely one of those magical moments, a little bit of fate and a whole lot of ‘tutu love’. So, as they say, keep your eyes open, stay open to new experiences – the magic might just be right around the corner…

See you next time darlings, keep twirling and don’t forget, life's always a little more fun in a pink tutu!
