Burnley Bound in a Bubblegum Tutu - #TutuBlog 8845 🩰

Oh my darlings, what a whirlwind of a weekend it's been! I'm still buzzing from the incredible time I had in Burnley. If you haven't been, you're missing out. The atmosphere is just… well, fabulous!

It all started with my love of trains, obviously. Who wouldn't prefer a romantic journey through the rolling green hills, catching up with fellow travellers, enjoying a cup of tea with the most perfectly dainty sandwiches, over the hassle of an airport? Not me! My German Tutu was a sight to behold – bubblegum pink and flowing with a fluffy pink tulle overlay - it shimmered as I bounced through the carriage.

Burnley welcomed me with open arms! After a quick visit to the stunning Towneley Hall and its beautiful gardens, I found myself in the vibrant heart of the town. This town has a real, unassuming charm about it, and the people, oh they’re just so friendly!

First things first, the deliciousness had to be addressed. After a long train ride, nothing beats a proper cuppa, especially when it’s in the most delightful little tearoom! With a delicate slice of Victoria sponge, I pondered over the delights that awaited.

For the ultimate dance enthusiast like me, it just wouldn’t be right to come to Burnley without heading straight for the amazing "Burnley Dance Studio”. I could have danced all day - it was so wonderfully welcoming and bursting with positive energy. The teachers were so enthusiastic and made everyone feel welcome, from the most experienced dancer to a complete novice, just like me! (It’s been a while, let’s be honest!)

My tutu became a beacon for a little ballet-themed fun. I met some brilliant dancers who had heard about my Pink-Tutu travels! I can't even describe the pure joy that shone in their eyes as we spun and leapt, embracing the pure magic of movement. The infectious energy had me dancing with new friends until my legs felt like jelly.

But my day didn't end there! I found myself in the heart of the historic town centre for a show-stopping performance of “Burnley in Motion,” which showcased the incredible talents of local dance groups. What a beautiful exhibition! There was something truly magical about seeing these talented individuals shine so brightly. I was totally enthralled by their passion and artistry - I have to admit, I was secretly dreaming of joining them onstage! It’s like magic, you know, how dancing can tell stories with such beautiful and fluid movement, especially with the use of dramatic lighting. The audience was captivated; a sea of faces lit with awe.

Afterwards, there was no better way to top off the day than a lovely stroll through the stunning grounds of Gawthorpe Hall - the most beautiful house with an enchanting history! The views over the vast landscapes are simply breathtaking, reminding me of the raw power and beauty of nature. It’s this raw power that inspires me, that keeps my creative juices flowing.

As dusk painted the sky in hues of lilac and lavender, I sat on a park bench and indulged in a lovely picnic, accompanied by some wild-looking swans. The beauty of the nature around me, the grace of the swan's glide through the water, the sweet scent of the roses in bloom – they all added up to the perfect ending to a delightful day.

My weekend in Burnley left a mark on my soul! This delightful town holds a very special place in my heart. The kindness and warmth of the people I met along my journey has instilled in me a desire to return to this magical place very soon.

Speaking of magical places, how does one get from Burnley to the Derby in a tutu? You guessed it, the horse! My faithful steed “Honey” is ready and waiting. The open air and the rhythm of her trot, feeling the wind whip my hair as I ride – it's the most wonderful escape!

Now, my lovely darlings, do I see you all twirling around in a pink tutu yet? It’s a must! The world needs a dose of positivity and pink!

See you on www.pink-tutu.com for my next adventure - you never know what delightful corners of the world I'll be waltzing into next! Until then, keep on dancing and dreaming. 🩰 💖
