Ramsgate Romance: Tutu Tales and Italian Elegance 🩰🇮🇹

Blog Post Number 8944

Hello my darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving tutu queen, Emma, and I'm back from a magical trip to Ramsgate, a seaside town on the south coast of England, just a stone's throw from where my granddad used to live. I love finding historical little towns hidden along the English coastline, especially with the charming sea air!

Now, my trip wouldn't have been complete without a touch of ballet. I’ve had a tututastic time! But before we dive into all that, I must share the story of my new Italian tutu - talk about La Bella Vita!

Imagine: a soft, flowing silk tutu in the most exquisite blush pink, embroidered with delicate swirls of silver thread. It's practically begging for a twirl! I found it nestled amidst the beautiful silks in a vintage shop in Florence, tucked away in the heart of Tuscany. My love for ballet and pink collided head-on, and I just had to have it!

And you know what they say - when in Rome, tutu like the Romans! Or should I say, when in Florence, tutu like the Florentines?! Anyway, I took the opportunity to explore Florence's ballet scene, watching a beautiful contemporary performance in a stunning theatre adorned with beautiful paintings and velvet curtains.

Now, back to my journey!

Ramsgate Rendezvous

The journey from Derbyshire, my humble abode, took a delightful seven hours by train. I'd swapped my pink ballet shoes for trusty boots and wrapped myself in a warm woolen scarf – the countryside looked so charming beneath the autumn sky. After all, travelling by train allows for admiring the countryside at a slow and steady pace, much like a graceful ballet dancer gracefully glides across the stage!

Arriving in Ramsgate, the wind whisked the salty sea air through my hair. Oh, the sea breeze is a wonderful reminder to live a little - like a mermaid in the ocean, or perhaps like a swan gliding across a serene lake!

The town was a charming blend of historic buildings and colourful beach huts. The colourful huts resembled little dancing tutus dotted along the shoreline! Every corner of the town, whether a historic cobbled street, a quirky little cafe, or a sandy beach, offered photo-worthy moments, and believe me, my camera couldn't have been happier!

Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without a visit to the beach. I strolled along the sandy shore, letting the waves lap at my toes, feeling utterly carefree. I even went for a quick dip in the brisk sea – definitely a little nippy but wonderfully invigorating!

I couldn't leave Ramsgate without discovering its ballet scene, could I? I stumbled upon a charming little dance studio nestled away in a quiet cobblestone lane. As I entered, a vibrant atmosphere engulfed me - like a pirouette in motion! It felt like entering a magical wonderland where music filled the air, and bodies moved gracefully like flowers swaying in a gentle breeze. I couldn't resist joining the beginners' ballet class - oh, it felt so good to be twirling and leaping again!

But my love for ballet isn’t confined to the dance floor; I couldn't leave Ramsgate without visiting its captivating theatre, a historic landmark where my great grandmother once performed, though not as a ballerina, I hasten to add! But that hasn’t stopped me from getting a little stage fright (and feeling a lot of excitement) before attending the town's annual amateur ballet performance. Seeing so many people expressing themselves through ballet in their own unique way reminded me just how powerful ballet truly is!

Wild, Wonderful Wildlife

This charming seaside town holds a secret love affair with nature, especially with its delightful array of wildlife. My adventures were brightened by playful seals basking in the sun on the nearby beaches, majestic seagulls gracefully gliding in the vast expanse of the sky, and even a few playful dolphins gracefully performing in the sparkling blue waves.

Even during my walks along the coastline, I kept a keen eye out for some wildlife, which I always like to share on my Instagram. (By the way, if you're not following me already, what are you waiting for? Join my ballet-loving community! You can find me at @emma_pinktutu.)

I fell in love with Ramsgate. I have to say, my heart is dancing with memories of this trip. It's a place that's perfectly suited to dreaming, exploring and indulging in a touch of magic.

Remember my little pink tutus, a symbol of the sheer joy of dance? Well, you know me. I love sharing that joy with you. Maybe a day you'll see me in my new blush pink silk Italian beauty in a theatre near you!

Pink Tutu Tip of the Day!

Are you a lover of the graceful world of ballet? Have you ever thought about stepping onto the stage? Perhaps I should give you some inspiration. Try exploring local ballet studios and consider attending a beginners’ class – they are a lovely place to learn, even for complete beginners. The welcoming smiles and friendly atmosphere are sure to make you feel like a true prima ballerina!

See you soon!

Love, Emma
