Now, let me tell you, my dear readers, Melton Mowbray has been on my list of "must-visit" places for ages. There's just something about its quaintness, its history, and its iconic pork pies that pulls me in! And let me assure you, those pork pies are worth the trip. 🥧 They're absolutely divine! But back to the real reason I travelled here – to delve deeper into the world of ballet.
Today's journey was one for the books! I took the train, naturally, always preferring a good train ride with its soothing rhythm and calming scenery. It was a picturesque journey through the Derbyshire countryside, just perfect for catching up on my favourite reads, catching glimpses of wildlife (did you know, we spotted a red fox! 😍), and sipping on my signature pink tea. It’s important to travel in style, you know!
As I arrived at Melton Mowbray, I was welcomed with open arms (and smiles!) by the locals. It was lovely to stroll through the town centre, taking in the old architecture, popping into the independent shops, and soaking in the relaxed atmosphere.
Speaking of soaking, the ballet class I found in Melton Mowbray was simply divine! They offered an American-style ballet class, a real treat for me since I’ve been wanting to expand my style repertoire for ages. Now, I've tried lots of different ballet styles over the years (from traditional French to more contemporary forms), but American ballet is certainly something special. It was absolutely joyous, focusing on flowing movement, elegant arm extensions, and all the lovely details I adore. Needless to say, I strutted into class wearing my go-to, gorgeous pink tutu. It felt simply fabulous to twirl through the steps, feel the pink tulle billowing around me, and soak in the camaraderie of the class.

A majestic Victorian masterpiece, this charming little theatre exudes an air of timelessness and magic. Inside, the stage felt like it was ready for its own dazzling performance. I could practically picture myself gliding across it, dancing under the glow of the spotlights, feeling the energy of the audience swirling around me.
The perfect way to cap off my day? A delightful dinner at a charming local pub, enjoying hearty food and great company. We had lively conversation about life, dreams, and yes, you guessed it – ballet! It turns out that even in Melton Mowbray, ballet enthusiasts abound, their passion radiating through every conversation. The locals are genuinely enthused about the performing arts here, and that’s something special.
