Bournville Bound: A Narrow Escape in Pink (Post 9016)

Hello darlings! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to the heart of chocolate country! I’m buzzing with excitement after a day of dancing, chocolate, and, yes, you guessed it, even more tutus! It’s all thanks to my fabulous friend Alice, a fellow ballerina who introduced me to the wonders of Bournville. If you’re in the mood for a sugary, girly adventure, this is the place for you!

It wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu blog without a touch of pink, would it? My outfit, of course, was the epitome of feminine ballet style! A glorious pink, narrow tutu – just narrow enough to twirl in comfortably on a busy train (we all know travelling with a full-length tutu can be tricky!), and topped with a delicate lavender lace blouse and my trusty pink ballet flats. Alice looked absolutely stunning in her chic powder blue dress with matching beret, perfect for the quaint streets of Bournville. I’d say we were quite the picture!

Speaking of pictures, I’m just dying to show you the charming little Victorian cottages we explored. Their terracotta roofs and pastel colours looked straight out of a fairytale. Imagine rows upon rows of tiny, charming houses, each one boasting a vibrant flower garden, blooming in full splendour! My Instagram feed is already brimming with shots of their beauty.

Of course, a trip to Bournville would be incomplete without a visit to the Cadbury World. We’ve been promising ourselves this trip for ages, and the experience did not disappoint! From the chocolate-making demonstrations to the interactive exhibits and the ultimate indulgence, the Cadbury World Café, we savored every moment. We even had the opportunity to design our very own chocolate bar – the best part was definitely devouring our creations afterwards!

The highlight of our day? A ballet performance at the Bournville Community Centre. They held an evening of student performances featuring students from the Bournville Ballet School, and, honestly, it was simply divine. The level of skill was incredible, and I even recognized some steps from my own childhood classes! Alice, being the passionate ballet fanatic she is, couldn't contain her enthusiasm. She nearly brought down the house with her loud applause after one particularly beautiful routine!

As I type this from the warmth of my little Derbyshire cottage, surrounded by the comforting aroma of lavender and freshly-baked bread, I can’t help but reflect on this magical day. Bournville was truly a sensory treat!

I'm all about spreading the love of ballet and pink tutus. It's not just about fancy steps and perfect posture - it’s about embracing grace, elegance, and most importantly, having fun! If you ever have the chance, try a ballet class, grab a friend, and let loose! It’s guaranteed to bring joy and a smile to your face.

Until next time, darlings!

Stay tuned for my next adventure, and be sure to follow along on Instagram and Twitter (@pinktutuemma) for behind-the-scenes snippets of my journey!

Love, Emma
