Hello, lovelies! It's your girl, Emma, checking in from the beautiful, bustling town of Solihull. I’m positively overflowing with excitement from my latest tutu escapade, which, naturally, involved a journey by train – wouldn’t have it any other way, you know? (Unless, of course, a friendly carriage horse could be found – just picture the whimsical image!)
Speaking of whimsical, you just wouldn’t believe the incredible tutu I picked up in Germany, just a couple of weeks ago! Imagine my delight when I stumbled across a hidden gem tucked away in a tiny, quaint town outside of Munich. A small, independent boutique overflowing with delicate silks, satins, and lace… you know the drill! 💖 And in the corner? Nestled amongst handcrafted ballet shoes and velvet bags, lay a breathtaking, hand-beaded tutu, with tiers and tiers of the most delicate pink tulle, sparkling with tiny crystals. I gasped, grabbed it immediately, and paid a hefty price - let’s just say this tutu is more than just a simple garment, it’s an investment! I felt like a princess from a fairytale… well, perhaps a princess with a slightly chaotic dance bag!
Solihull Ballet Beauty
The beauty of Solihull is definitely a secret that should be shared! The heart of the town itself has a vibrancy and charm you wouldn't expect, but don't even get me started on the Touchwood Shopping Centre - think high-end shops, pretty cafés, and a sprinkling of sparkly boutiques – all conveniently situated right beside the train station!
This week, I discovered a wonderful little dance studio, Dancers Elite. It's tucked away in a quieter corner, tucked between a charming tea shop and an antique book store – seriously, the most delightful street! Inside the studio, it felt like walking into a sanctuary for the soul – all elegant mirrors, polished floors, and a gentle ballet soundtrack.
They even offer adult beginner classes - and who better than this Pink Tutu Queen to champion starting ballet, even later in life?! I was definitely considering jumping in for a class (though, with this new tutu, I can't resist striking a pose or two!), but after a long day, my inner ballerina was more inclined towards exploring the culinary delights of the area.
Pink Treats & Indulgences
Let's be honest, when a tutu-clad princess arrives in a new town, what's on the menu? Delicious, dreamy, pink desserts, of course! The café scene in Solihull did not disappoint. The perfect place to take a well-deserved break between exploring was The Coffee House. Not just a cuppa and a slice of cake – it was more of an afternoon tea adventure. With delicate finger sandwiches, mouthwatering scones, and delicate, dainty cakes, it was the ideal escape into a fairytale wonderland, particularly after the long journey from Germany.
After all, you can't properly debut a new tutu without some exquisite sustenance, now can you?! 😉
Adventures & Wildlife Wonders
And what kind of day trip would be complete without a touch of natural beauty? We set out from the centre, into the heart of Warwickshire's charming countryside. Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Solihull, lies the picturesque Packwood House & Garden. Think sweeping, vibrant gardens, majestic topiary, and a quaint, historic manor house – perfect for strolling and taking some Instagram-worthy photos!
For the animal enthusiast, the true star of the show is undoubtedly the pack of resident red deer! Seeing them roam free through the meadow, was like being transported into a tranquil scene from a nature documentary. If you can manage to find them, it's quite an experience to witness their majesty and grace – talk about graceful! Just like a dancer, don’t you think?
Embrace The Pink Tutu Dream
My lovely ladies (and gentlemen, of course!), as I often say, "Live, laugh, love and embrace the pink tutu!" It's time we break free from the norms of fashion and societal expectations. Solihull is the perfect example: a bustling town with charming hidden pockets of elegance and history, just waiting to be discovered!
Do I encourage everyone to wear pink tutus? Absolutely! Is ballet the key to a fulfilling, joyful life? Absolutely!
