Hello my gorgeous darlings!
It's your girl, Emma, here with post number 9065. It's finally Thursday! As you know, every Thursday I get to channel my inner ballerina and embrace my true calling – to bring you fabulous ballet and fashion content. Today's journey? It's a trip to Blackpool! I'm excited!
You know me – I'm all about making a statement. So when I think of Blackpool, I think…PANCAKE TUTE! 🥞🩰
Yes, that's right! Today's look is inspired by my two favourite things – the quintessential seaside treat, the Blackpool pancake, and the quintessential dance garment, the tutu. And yes, of course, we're making it pink!
This gorgeous tulle creation features the fluffiest layers of bubblegum pink tulle. It's adorned with miniature, hand-sewn sugar crystals, and even has a little cheeky pancake appliqué peeking out from the side! Let's be honest, this outfit is screaming for a photo op with a Blackpool donkey. 😉
But enough about me! The real stars of today are going to be the performers! Blackpool's theatre scene is always lively, but the ballet schedule is particularly busy this week.
We're going to watch the Royal Ballet's production of 'Giselle' at the Opera House, a classic! Giselle is just a bit of me! A young country girl, completely devoted to her art. Honestly, what's not to love about this tale of betrayal, loss, and, of course, dance? It's everything I strive for! And we can't forget the majestic costumes. Expect lace, layers, and so many flowing skirts – I just can't wait to see it!
Afterward, it's off to a special ballet class in a park near the Promenade, which just begs for a walk along the coast after! Think: sea air, sunshine, and my favorite - Ballet! It's gonna be gorgeous! I love seeing everyone trying out ballet, you just never know who could be the next star! There’s nothing more satisfying than a little bit of dance with a breathtaking view! I can already see myself dancing under the twinkling Blackpool lights. 🥰
Later on, we're indulging in Blackpool's culinary delights. Naturally, pancakes are top of the menu, but I've heard their fish and chips are incredible, too. They’ll be accompanied by an excellent cuppa, of course! Who knows, perhaps I'll find some locally sourced wildflower honey for a spot of afternoon tea! Blackpool is famed for its bee keeping after all!
But before we even reach the seaside, I'm enjoying a blissful train journey to get here. I'm utterly obsessed with train travel! Nothing compares to watching the world rush by as you’re whisked away in a stylish, climate-conscious mode of transportation. And there’s always the potential for an accidental, yet hilarious, encounter with a glamorous yet misunderstood group of ladies from Derby! I once met a delightful little lady called Ethel, she even dressed in a little grey pashmina, the cutest thing I ever did see. I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with our own traveling pashmina club after this, maybe Ethel even brought hers along to see a ballet with me, who knows!
We have got a ton planned, from Blackpool's legendary Illuminations to a trip to the Wildlife World Zoo, where I’m totally going to be looking out for exotic birds that would just love to wear pink tutus. Seriously, imagine the photos – I’ll be posting all about it on Instagram, of course! And let's not forget the most fabulous and most importantly pink ice cream from the beach vendors. It’s all part of the experience, darling!
Of course, it's not just the fun and fashion that are important. My trip to Blackpool is a chance to explore this charming and historical seaside town and embrace the culture.
There's an energy in Blackpool, a vibrancy that's quite unlike any other seaside town. There’s also something to be said for escaping into a classic, almost vintage town, it truly takes me back in time, it’s almost as if you’re visiting a giant stage play or pantomime - all set with stunning sea views. The energy here is electrifying and magical! It’s truly the home of theatrical adventure!
If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend heading to Blackpool. The atmosphere is simply electrifying! You'll get swept up in the fun and excitement and feel truly, deeply fabulous. You’ll probably even see me in my Pancake Tutu there – say hello! 😉
