Twickenham: A Pancake Tutu and a Pink Paradise! 🩰

Hello my gorgeous tutu-loving lovelies! 👋 It’s Emma here, straight from the heart of Derbyshire, and ready to whisk you away on another adventure – this time to the beautiful town of Twickenham!

Now, you know how much I love a good train journey – the gentle rhythmic click-clack, the ever-changing scenery, the chance to lose myself in a book or a little ballet practice in the corner! This time, the train took me on a delightful trip to the south-west, where the streets were filled with vibrant cafes and the air had that unmistakeable London buzz. I’d say it was an absolute dream! 💖

I had to pick the perfect tutu for this trip, and as I was craving something a bit lighter and whimsical, my choice fell on a beautiful, cloud-soft, pink pancake tutu. 🧁 Just picture it: a sea of pale pink tulle, airy and graceful, swirling with every step I took. Honestly, I felt like I could fly! It made me feel like a princess who just popped out of a fairy tale, which I, of course, embraced wholeheartedly.

A Day at the Royal Ballet 🩰

The highlight of my trip was an afternoon at the Royal Ballet. Oh my goodness! It was absolutely divine! There was a magnificent stage, a magical atmosphere, and dancers who made you gasp in awe with every move. You’ve got to experience this to truly understand it! The pure joy of watching dancers move with such grace and power is something truly magical. I was so enthralled that I even ended up taking some notes in my little ballet journal – you never know, I might be inspired to create a new routine!

And talking about inspiring… have you heard of this absolutely adorable little ballet school in the town called The Twickenham Dance Academy? It’s tucked away on a quiet side street, with the most gorgeous, little pink building. Honestly, my heart skipped a beat when I saw it. The inside was just as charming, with a beautifully polished dance floor and walls covered in adorable pictures of tiny ballerinas and adorable baby boys, trying to master the perfect pirouette. It felt like stepping back into a simpler time.

Later in the day, as I was wandering through the quaint, winding streets, I discovered the cutest little tea room. They had the most delicate floral china and the sweetest little cakes, perfect for an afternoon tea. As I was nibbling on a delicate strawberry meringue and sipping on my English Breakfast, I couldn’t help but reflect on what an incredible day it had been. Twickenham, you stole my heart!

The Wildlife Wonder of Richmond Park

After my magical dance journey, I decided to escape the city noise and ventured into the sprawling Richmond Park. Oh, it was a little piece of paradise! Think sprawling green fields, ancient oaks and majestic deer roaming freely, gracefully navigating the park's beautiful pathways. I found myself surrounded by so much tranquility and beauty. I could imagine those majestic deer starring in their own ballet performance! I have to say, they looked rather impressive. It really was a delightful little trip for my soul.

A Whirlwind of Pink

On my way back home, I felt this undeniable pull towards the shops, naturally drawn towards anything sparkly and pink, especially tutus! My dear readers, let me tell you, this trip was filled with tutus, more pink, and oh so much beauty, a pink paradise for any tutu-loving ballerina, I swear, the shops there seemed to be just for me, like they were specially made for my love of all things pretty! You’d think a pink tutu wearing Derbyshire girl could find all her pink wishes come true in Derbyshire! Well, dear readers, think again. There are so many delightful gems in this beautiful island.

Of course, I wasn't able to resist bringing home a couple of lovely new tutu treasures - one a gorgeous silk tutu that felt so luxuriously silky soft, perfect for twirling around town. The other - oh dear me, it's a delightful new fluffy ballet dress, you just have to wait and see what adventures that is destined to go on.

It's amazing how, despite how many tutu treasures I already have, each new find, every new addition feels just so unique and so full of love. They each make me smile in a way nothing else can. The magical pinkness, it really does make you feel fabulous. So my dears, do not be afraid to unleash the magic and joy, just add a little sparkle. You might be surprised by what a magical world it opens you up to. 💕

So, what are your favourite spots for a twirl and some inspiration? I’d love to hear all about them, tell me all in the comments below, because, after all, sharing the beauty of dance is the best thing of all! ✨

And remember my gorgeous readers - don't forget to put on your own fabulous pink tutu, and make it a dazzlingly pink week.

Sending you lots of love and tutus,

Emma 🩰
