Littlehampton Calling: Pink Tutu Takes on the Seaside 🩰

Hello, my gorgeous darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu-clad adventurer, checking in with you from the stunning seaside town of Littlehampton. This little slice of paradise on the south coast of England has been calling my name for months, and I'm so delighted to finally be here, twirling in the sunshine and soaking up the charm.

Today marks post number 9148 on my little slice of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com – that’s almost 10,000 days of ballet-fuelled adventures! And trust me, this trip is already going down as one for the books!

So, let's rewind to yesterday. Feeling like I was on top of the world (maybe thanks to a healthy dose of ballet-induced endorphins), I decided a train journey was just what I needed. The train, as always, felt like my own personal stage – a place to channel my inner ballerina. My black tutu, with its elegant pleats and graceful movement, practically danced along with the rhythm of the tracks. (And yes, I'm aware I looked ridiculous, but who cares when you're embracing the joy of a twirling good time!)

Littlehampton welcomed me with open arms – or, perhaps it was more like welcoming me with a gentle sea breeze. The moment I stepped off the train and onto the promenade, a sense of calm washed over me. It felt like a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I couldn’t help but channel my inner swan with a few gentle à la seconde glides along the pavement – you know, just to appreciate the fresh air and stunning views.

Of course, no seaside trip is complete without a little bit of wildlife spotting. And I must admit, the littlehampton beach didn’t disappoint! I spent the afternoon watching adorable seagulls try to steal chips from unsuspecting tourists, all while indulging in my own fish and chips. Truly a win-win situation.

Later that evening, as the golden hour painted the sky with vibrant hues, I made my way to the local ballet class. Imagine my surprise when I found a charming little studio tucked away in the heart of Littlehampton. It was everything a ballerina's heart could desire - soft wooden floors, grand mirrors, and a perfectly balanced sound system to accompany our pirouettes. The class was small but filled with enthusiasm, and everyone was eager to share the love for ballet. I felt instantly welcome – it felt just like home!

And wouldn’t you know it, but the local theater was putting on a performance of "The Nutcracker" the following evening. My pink-tutu-wearing heart skipped a beat! Ballet at the seaside? Absolutely magical! The theatre was an intimate space with a beautiful stage, the perfect setting to transport me to the whimsical world of Clara's Christmas adventure. Every graceful leap, every delicate pointe shoe tap, and every captivating pirouette filled me with so much joy and wonder.

The best part of the whole experience, however, was meeting a group of enthusiastic fellow tutu-lovers – who were equally captivated by the production. These beautiful people, sharing the same passion for ballet as me, instantly became dear friends. Together, we even brainstormed a "Pink Tutu for a Cause" fundraiser for the theatre.

Of course, no trip is complete without a spot of shopping. As much as I loved my black tutu, I simply couldn't leave Littlehampton without a pink one. Luckily, a charming vintage boutique called "The Ballerina’s Attic" held a stunning pink tutu just for me, adorned with sequins that sparkled in the sunlight. The moment I put it on, I felt like I was back in my element – graceful, whimsical, and ready to take on the world.

My Littlehampton escapade was truly a testament to the beauty and magic that can be found in the most unexpected places. If you ever get the chance to visit this seaside gem, grab your favorite tutu, bring your most radiant smile, and get ready for some pure pink tutu-filled bliss!

Now, if you'll excuse me, my gorgeous friends, I have some tutu-tastic photos to upload. Remember, dear ones: Life is too short for beige tutus. Go forth, be brave, and embrace your inner ballerina. I dare you to wear pink!

Until next time,

Emma x
