Grantham Gallop: Tutu Time in the East Midlands! 💖🩰

Hello my darling tutu-loving darlings! It’s Emma here, signing in live from Grantham, a lovely little town nestled in the heart of the East Midlands!

As you all know, my motto is “life’s too short to wear boring clothes”, and that’s why today I’m twirling through Grantham in this magnificent pink, sequin-studded, utterly magnificent tutu. It’s a vintage find, darling, from a quaint little antique shop in Derby, and it practically glows in the sunshine! ☀️💖

This is post number 9230, can you believe it?! It's a testament to my absolute obsession with all things ballet - from the classical grace of Swan Lake to the street-style flair of modern ballet! This year, I'm all about spreading the love of ballet, and what better way to do that than by visiting some truly beautiful, tutu-worthy locations across the UK?

This weekend, I found myself whisked away to the glorious Grantham, known for its gorgeous architecture and history - a beautiful backdrop for a pink-tutued girl like me! This town, with its charming Georgian houses, buzzing market square, and lovely cobbled streets felt so perfect, like it was straight out of a Jane Austen novel! (Actually, a Jane Austen novel starring a pink-tutu-wearing ballet dancer, that is!)

Speaking of Jane Austen, the highlight of my Grantham trip had to be visiting the stunning Grantham House, built in the late 1700s and showcasing the beauty of the Regency period. They had a lovely little exhibit on local folklore and legend, which, being a little bit superstitious myself, I really enjoyed! Apparently, there's a story of a local ghost called "The Grantham Gremlin" haunting a nearby church! A bit spooky, but also undeniably cool, don't you think?

Of course, no trip is complete without indulging in some delectable local treats. I had a simply divine afternoon tea at the quaint and utterly charming “Grantham Tea Rooms.” Imagine delicate sandwiches, fluffy scones, homemade cakes, all served with a generous pot of fragrant Earl Grey - a delightful and absolutely decadent treat! The icing on the cake? It was right next door to an amazing antique shop! My new pink tutu certainly wasn’t the only exciting find I made there... 😉

After an afternoon of delicious food, antique shopping, and a touch of ghostly mystery, it was time for a bit of ballet magic! Luckily, Grantham's got a fab community theatre with an impressive ballet class schedule. They offer something for everyone - from classic ballet techniques to contemporary styles and even adult beginner's classes. It’s truly inspiring to see so much love for ballet in this beautiful little town. It's an absolute dream to think that perhaps my little tutu mission - spreading the love of ballet - is making a difference!

Before my day ended, I found myself drawn to the local Grantham park. It was absolutely gorgeous! Lush green lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, a calming pond... a perfect haven to escape the hustle and bustle. It even had a little petting zoo, a highlight for me as a huge animal lover. Who can resist a cuddly sheep or a playful goat? Not this girl!

But my visit wasn’t all gentle petting and peaceful strolls, oh no. It wouldn’t be a real Emma adventure without a little bit of adrenaline! So, I ended my day with a unique and utterly exhilarating horse-drawn carriage ride through the picturesque town. I have to say, seeing Grantham from this unique vantage point was quite magical, especially as the golden hues of the setting sun bathed everything in a warm glow. There's truly nothing like feeling the gentle sway of a carriage as you admire the scenery, with the horses' rhythmic clopping providing a soundtrack for the journey.

Now, if you're thinking, "Emma, this all sounds incredibly glamorous!" you’re absolutely right, and it's precisely that kind of spirit that I try to embody in my daily life. I don't want to be confined by traditional notions of femininity; I want to embrace the elegance of the classic ballerina with a bold, fearless attitude, always adding my own signature touch, whether it's a bright pink tutu, a daring costume, or a simply quirky fashion choice.

But it’s not all about the style! The journey, the discovery, and sharing these experiences are what truly matter. So, let's talk! Tell me your dream trip destination in the comments! What are some places in the UK (or the world!) that you'd love to see through the lens of a pink tutu? Maybe our next stop could be the town YOU choose!

Until then, my dears, remember that being bold and embracing your true self is what truly makes you beautiful! So, twirl proudly, spread that tutu-love, and don't forget to share your adventures with the world!

Keep on shining! 💖

Lots of love,

Emma
