Melton Mowbray: Tutu Adventures and a Dash of Pink! 🩰

Hey there, fellow tutu lovers! Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood pink-tutu-wearing ballerina. Today's adventure takes us to Melton Mowbray, a charming little town nestled in Leicestershire. I've been meaning to visit for ages, and I finally got the chance to escape the Derbyshire hills for a day of dancing and, of course, more pink tutus! 💖

Now, as a seasoned tutu traveler (this is blog post number 9268, after all!), I'm always on the lookout for new ways to express my love for this fabulous garment. And this trip was no different! I whipped up a new tutu just for the occasion – a classic pink number, of course, but with a twist! It’s got these amazing sparkly layers, and the whole thing swishes and twirls beautifully. I can't help but feel like a pink-tutu-clad fairytale princess whenever I wear it! ✨

My journey to Melton Mowbray began with a whimsical train ride. I love watching the world go by from the window, feeling the rhythm of the rails and letting my imagination run wild. This time, I found myself gazing out at rolling green fields dotted with sheep and fluffy clouds that looked like giant pink tutus. Maybe I’m getting carried away with my ballet inspiration… 🙈

When I arrived in Melton Mowbray, the first thing I did was head straight to the local bakery – after all, Melton Mowbray is famous for its pork pies! It seemed only fitting to enjoy one of these local delicacies with my pink tutu, a rather unlikely but delicious combination if I do say so myself!

But it wouldn’t be a true tutu adventure without a ballet-themed stop, would it? Fortunately, Melton Mowbray has a fantastic little dance studio called “The Dancing Foot.” They welcomed me with open arms and I was able to join in with their beginner’s ballet class. Even though I’ve been dancing for years, it was wonderful to go back to the basics and simply enjoy the feeling of moving my body and connecting with the music. The best part? My fellow dancers loved my pink tutu – it definitely added a touch of magic to our routine!

After class, I was eager to explore the town a bit more. I found a charming little bookstore with a wonderful selection of dance books. I even spotted a beautifully illustrated edition of "Swan Lake," which was impossible to resist. A must-have for my tutu-themed bookshelf! 📚

Now, it wouldn’t be a proper Emma blog post without a little wildlife adventure. This time, I was lucky enough to see a group of grey squirrels playing in a park near the centre of town. Watching them scamper and chase each other was so delightful – a delightful reminder of the simple joys life can offer. I’ve always loved animals, and squirrels in particular. They remind me of dancers in a way, so graceful yet quick and playful. 🐿️

The evening found me attending a wonderful theatre performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" – Shakespearean theatre is a favourite pastime of mine and seeing it performed in a smaller, intimate venue just added to the magic! Seeing talented performers bringing these famous characters to life was an absolute treat and, of course, it was almost impossible not to admire their captivating moves! The tutus they wore in the production were incredible too.

Before my journey back to Derbyshire, I had one last stop at a quaint little antique shop tucked away on a side street. I fell in love with a vintage mirror, decorated with an intricate pink and silver design that matched my tutu perfectly! The shop owner, a sweet old lady who could tell stories of bygone eras, gave me a charming pink silk ribbon to tie around the mirror. It’s definitely a unique and special treasure that will always remind me of this lovely trip. 🪞

This day in Melton Mowbray was simply delightful. It was a mix of pink tutus, fluffy squirrels, delicious pies, and, of course, the beautiful world of ballet. From the moment I stepped onto that train, I knew I was in for a memorable adventure.

So, dear readers, what do you think? Have you been to Melton Mowbray? What is your favourite place to explore in a tutu? And are you ready to join the pink tutu revolution? If not, what are you waiting for? Grab a tutu (any colour!), put on some music, and start twirling! 🩰 💖

Until next time, keep twirling!

Love, Emma
