Upminster: Tutu-ing Around Town! ๐ฉฐ๐
Hello darlings! It's your girl, Emma, reporting live from Upminster, a charming little town in Essex. I know, I know - it's a bit of a change from my usual ballet adventures in the heart of London. But this girl loves a bit of variety, and I was utterly smitten by the quaint charm of Upminster and the delightful train journey getting here. There's something about being gently rocked back and forth by the train, surrounded by all the bustle and beauty of a countryside town that gets me all excited!
And speaking of beauty, my pink tulle tutu, this one with a bit of a American twirl, absolutely floored me this morning! This is how you make a statement: think soft pastel pink with sparkling accents that glimmered with every turn of my ballerina leg, all set off by a sassy little peacock feather that adorned my head. A touch of whimsy and a whole lot of drama. Oh, how I love the versatility of a good tutu, darling!
First stop, Upminster Park! It was pure magic. The vibrant autumn colours on the trees, the crisp air nipping at my nose, the smell of leaves and a warm buttery croissant I treated myself to on the way - what's not to love about an early morning stroll, ballet shoes in tow, just to soak it all in. And just to be clear, darling, I do wear ballet shoes everywhere I go, it just feels... right!
And you know me, always looking for a little adventure, I spotted the sweetest little pony riding stable near the park. Honestly, nothing makes me happier than riding horses in the crisp autumn air, the wind whipping through my hair, feeling the energy of the creature beneath me, just... bliss. And I don't think anyone looked more stylish than me on that beautiful, chestnut horse. Yes, I had on my pink tutu with a pair of elegant riding boots โ it really does go with everything!
And then there was the village! I love browsing local shops and delving into the unique offerings they have on display. And I found some real gems - a delightful little pottery shop filled with intricate handcrafted pieces that screamed out my name and an independent bookstore overflowing with vintage books that whispered forgotten tales and whispered secrets of a bygone era.
But you know my day wouldn't be complete without some ballet. Upminster is actually a hotbed of talented dancers - imagine my delight! There was this quaint dance studio that was tucked away down a charming little alleyway, hidden in plain sight, just waiting to be discovered. I was immediately drawn in by the infectious energy buzzing in the air, the sounds of gentle twirling and light footsteps, and the scent of polished wooden floors and sweet-smelling hairspray. I felt an urge to unleash my own moves and dance it all away.
For a while, I felt transported back to my early years of ballet, those magical moments in my dance studio in Derbyshire, the laughter and joy of sharing my love for movement. I thought back to those nights at the theatre, the lights dazzling and shimmering in a breathtaking kaleidoscope of colors. I still feel those familiar shivers down my spine, that thrill of dancing in a theater performance under the spotlights.
And here, in this small town, amongst this diverse and welcoming community, my soul felt a warmth, a connection, an unexpected reminder of why I love ballet so much. This passion has carried me through, it helped shape my personality and allowed me to express myself in a language all my own.
It is, and it always will be, a way of life - my heart, my soul, my everything!
This dance journey, from Derbyshire, across the nation and across the globe is all about inspiring more people to discover this passion. I want everyone to try ballet, to embrace its beauty and strength, to enjoy that feeling of graceful movement. Because it is not about perfection, it is about the joy of self-expression and celebrating the art form through the power of movement and creativity.
This is the essence of pink tutu magic, and if I can do my part to encourage everyone to embrace their inner ballerina, then I've lived another beautiful day, another perfect pink moment, another glorious adventure.
Love you, darlings!
Yours truly,
Emma xx
