Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your resident tutu-wearing travel enthusiast, and today I'm bursting with excitement to share my adventures from the delightful seaside town of Broadstairs! 🌊☀️
I confess, my heart skipped a beat the moment I spotted the train timetable, seeing the perfect connection that would take me straight from my little Derbyshire haven to the beautiful Kent coast. 🚂 And I just couldn't resist the call of a seaside escapade, especially with my latest tulle treasure tucked safely in my luggage. 😉
You know me - a girl can't travel without a touch of pink and a generous helping of twirling-ready tulle, right? And this time, I brought out the big guns! My extra wide, fluffy tutu with layers of shimmering pink chiffon felt absolutely perfect for frolicking on the beach, catching the sunshine on its frills, and dancing along the promenade like a fairy flitting between beach huts and ice cream shops. 🍦🏖️
Honestly, Broadstairs embraced me with open arms! The charm of this little town just radiates. It felt like stepping into a vintage postcard, with brightly painted buildings, quaint little shops, and that deliciously salty, seaside air that just invigorates the soul! The people were so friendly, the cafes served the most amazing, fluffy cakes (and copious amounts of pink lemonade, obviously!), and I even spotted a group of children in matching ballet shoes taking a class on the beach! 😍🩰
As a girl who believes in the power of dance, seeing little ones get swept up in the joy of movement made my heart sing! Every twirl, every graceful plié - pure magic! 💖 It was then I knew my Broadstairs adventure would be filled with dancing, dreaming, and lots of pink tulle bliss!
After settling into a delightful little B&B that overlooked the charming harbour, my first port of call was the stunning sandy beach! The sheer joy of running across the soft sand with the wind whipping through my hair and the sea air washing over me, while feeling the ruffles of my tutu swaying in the breeze - it's an experience that always fills my soul with pure bliss. 💖
My inner child squealed with delight as I collected pretty pebbles and seashells, imagining them transforming into little ballet ballerinas ready to take their place on my pink tutu dressing table at home. ✨🐚
Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without a proper walk along the iconic promenade! The promenade is bursting with character, with quaint shops, cosy pubs, and even a little vintage carousel with its carousel horses, painted in a vibrant rainbow of colours. It felt like a little fairytale scene come to life! 🎠
The highlight of my day, however, was my unplanned encounter with a gaggle of seals sunning themselves on the nearby rocks! These beautiful creatures were basking in the sunshine, completely oblivious to the small crowd that had gathered to admire them. 🦭 Their playful antics and grace filled my heart with warmth - a reminder of the beauty that exists in the wild.
As evening settled, and the sea was painted with hues of gold and orange, I found myself taking a solitary stroll along the deserted beach, feeling a sense of calm and serenity. It was in these moments, as the waves gently lapped against the shore, that the magic of travel and the beauty of this beautiful place really washed over me.
My love affair with Broadstairs is already etched in my memory. From the seaside breezes to the charm of the old town, and the kindness of the people - Broadstairs left an indelible mark on my soul. And let’s not forget the ballet inspiration!
It was, after all, a beautiful ballet-filled trip!
